I went to see Transformers 4 last friday. Not only did I see it because I am a Transformers fan, and not only did I see it because I actually like the Bay films (and I'll talk a bit more about that later), but I also saw it because it was the start of the holidays. Now that I'm neck-deep in free time that is being drained away by the othello assignment due first day back, I thought that I should take a break and build some Lego. Yeah, 'some'. I didn't end up making anything from the LTC line, but I made a lot of micros. This is one of them. Now, after seeing TFAOE (it's strange how all the titles have 'of' in them), my favourite character was instantly identifiable - Crosshairs. Everything about this guy just screams 'awesome'. So, I tried to make him, but the vehicle mode wasn't that good. So, I thought he'd fit into the 'Aligned Continuity' a bit better. For those who've been living under a rock for the past five years, this continuity involves the War For Cybertron and Fall Of Cybertron games, as well as the Prime cartoon, somehow. This is totally canon, and you can even check on TFWiki. Anyway, I made two versions. The LDD is avaliable only for version two, because why wouldn't you want something that's newer? Well, unless you're talking about Chris Roach's new 2013 G1 Prime, because the Ultimate one is still better in my opinion. Anyway, enjoy this MOC. I'll be posting a whole lot of things in the next few days. Until then, happy building. :)

So, to begin, here we have version one it the vehicle mode.

And fast forward, robot mode! I'm gonna get this one over and done with quick, as V2 is a lot better.

You can see that the back sort-of resembles the back of a trench coat, but not quite.

For a size comparison, he does scale well with prime in his robot mode, but not in vehicle mode.

Yay! Now we have version two!

This version brings out the 'War For Cybertron' look a lot more, as I had completely scrapped the idea of making him 'movie accurate'.

The top section also looks a lot fuller in vehicle mode, thanks to the addition of extra kibble.

For a size comparison, he doesn't go well with the G1 Micro Prime. He does go well with the Legends Of Cybetron replica, though, which means he'd scale better with my Mini Optimus Exprime from 'Transformers Go!'.

And here's robot mode!

The coat style looks a lot better on version two.

There's also the addition of extra shoulder parts, allowing for a better look overall.

Here's a size comparison. Nothing much here...

...but who's the Geewunner hiding behind them? FIND OUT NEXT TIME!

Okay, now here's a little thing addressing all the extreme fanboyism and equally extreme geewunner hating spree about Transformers 4. In a way, both sides are right. While I thoroughly enjoyed it, I am still willing to admit that the film was a piece of crap. It was filled with plotholes, product placement and wasted potential. But at the same time, it's not the worst of the franchise. For the film critics who give it 0.5 out of ten, they are putting it in the wrong perspective. It's not meant to be a classy film that will tackle the latest Miyazaki movie, okay? It's an action flick, with some of the best action the franchise has ever seen. The characters are likeable, the Transformers are now identifiable and the villain, Lockdown, HE'S F**KING AWESOME! Without spoiling anything, I can honestly say that this film was a bad movie in general, but still an awesome film. I cannot wait for the next one, and for all you Bay haters, go watch the 80s film and leave us in peace. Until then, happy building...

...still, why was there a vehicon that had two Shockwave heads. I mean, seriously guys, if you're gonna watch it, you'll see him fighting Hound in China. It's just plain stupid. A two-headed Shockwave? COME ON!

Quoting Evan Botkin Well I went and saw the new movie Tuesday for my birthday and I must say, it was quite awesome. Crosshairs was cool but my favorite character (besides, of course, Optimus) was Hound. I didn't really like that they didn't name off all the Autobots so I didn't really feel as attached to all the characters as I did in the first one. Also Optimus going all 'I WILL KILL HUMANS!!!' was out of place. Otherwise I thought it was a good movie.
I thought that Hound would be my favourite character, as he was voiced by John Goodman, but no. I still like Crosshairs. And as for Prime, it's an interesting take. I'll have to admit, it can get a bit tiring to see the all-wise leader being all-wise. It's nice to see him lose his way a bit. But maybe that's just me, because a lot of people are really angry at Bay for doing that.

Quoting Evan Botkin Good work on the build. I like the trench-coat details. I haven't seen the new movie though, so I have no idea who this is =P To be honest, I have no problem with the first Bay film, it was awesome! The second one though, was just kind of meh and I have yet to see the third and fourth ones but yeah. Anyway good job.
You'll recognise crosshairs as soon as the new Autobots are released, so don't worry. The third one has a lot of mixed reviews about it. Some people say it's better than 2 but not as good as 1, and others (like me) think it's better than one. See that, then see AOE in the cinemas. And look out for that two-headed shockwave I was talking about. :)
Quoting andros tempest An interesting attempt to recreate the idea of a trench coat wearing robot. I'm sure the results would be better on a larger scale.
Well, I may one day make an LTC Crosshairs. Who knows?
Quoting Judah Santiago good job,i aggree with you that ultimate optimus is still the best from chris
Well, glad I'm not the only one! :P Still, I think the head's better on the new one. If you put the new head on the ultimate Prime, you'd have an even more awesome figure.
