Back from the dead! I'm coming back to partial activity and have got a lot to upload. To kick of my return I've got my leopard finally completed. Also, just realized I've been on Mocpages for over a year.
About this creation
First off excessive backstory.
The year is 2019 and NATO has all but dissolved due to internal tensions over authority in the Middle East. As NATO disintegrated, the United States and Germany formed a new alliance called the Americo-German Federation, or AGF. As part of the AGF, the two nations agreed to develop comparable weapon systems. Part of this development was the NextGen MBT project. This lead to the creation of the M1A3 Abrams and Leopard IIA8. Armor composites, sensory packages, and electromagnetic gun technologies were exchanged to create the tanks. The Abrams became a heavy hitting spear tip MBT, while the Leopard became a rapid attack infantry support tank.

Leopard IIA8
On the building side of things, this was a very fun build. I broke from a lot of the techniques I used in the Abrams to make the Leopard's unique shape. The turret's frontal armor is deceptively simple, but took a long time to figure out.

The A8 model of the Leopard was designed to fight modern asymmetrical warfare. Armor thickness changed little throughout the tank and the advanced composite is designed specifically to withstand RPGs and tank rounds from all angles. The "Vormund" APIS is similar to the type found on Abrams, however is more sensitive and able to destroy 30 projectiles before it requires a reload, which is a fairly quick operation.

Top down
As part of the asymmetrical warfare mindset, the tank's top is heavily armored as well. Though it is unconfirmed, it is rumored that the top is protected by a ultrasonic explosive neutralization system, capable of making RPGs and other explosives inert.

All the things Lego tanks should do, hatches, turret elevation, turret rotation, and a moveable HMG. The elevation of the gun on this tank is rather extreme, from virtually vertical, to almost 45 degrees down.

Hull down
The impressive hull down capability of the Leopard IIA8 gives it a defensive capability nearly as good as it's offensive ability. The gun is stabilized in a similar way to the M1 Abrams, giving the Leopard fantastic shoot and move capability.

The three man crew and stuff from the top storage area is shown here. Also gives you a sense of scale to a mini fig.

In country
Patrolling through some very tall grass. The Leopard is followed by an upgraded Rhino MRAP .

There's plant more I have to upload including three more tanks, IFVs, transports, and a load of LDD, but I'm going to space it out over the next few weeks

Thanks for view, and as always rate and comment.
