A Quest is at Hand
About this creation

The humble Town Square of Garrigill, a small town a little north of Meids, bustles with activity. Though the town has few citizens in comparision to the bigger cities of Mythron, there are always people out and about, filling the streets and public places.

The Beginning of a Quest

In the Town Square, a man preforms magic. The magic awes the children of Garrigill, even though they have seen his tricks countless times before.

2

A magician sells potions to citizens from his colorful booth. He sells anything from potions to grow hair to potions that turn people into small animals. Though an armature, he is not without business, for the people of the town are too poor to travel to Meids for higher quality products.

3

Garrigill also has a small Notice Board in the town square. Here citizens post notices regarding events, news of the war, and jobs for the unemployed to preform.

4

Today, however, a rather unusual notice has been posted.

Quests

Quests are adventures that characters of the Lands of Mythron participate in. Generally a quest has a specific goal for the character to achieve. Quests are a good opportunity to practice building, develop characters, and have fun! Each Quest build is worth 3 LoM points, and completing a quest grants an additional 5-10 points, depending on the length.

A Quest begins when one of the staff members posts a build signifying the beginning of the Quest (This is that build). Instructions will be included in the creation explaining to the players what the first step in the Quest is (They're at the bottom of the page). You are officially participating in a Quest when you upload your build prompted by these instructions and when an admin approves it.

After the given date has passed, no more people may join the Quest. On that date, an admin will post a build explaining the next step in the Quest and explain the choices that each player may make for their character. There will be 2-3 given options that players may choose, but players also have the choice to have their character do something not listed by the admins. However, this player will run the risk of not being allowed to continue if the choice is illogical and would obviously not work. If the player chooses something logical, they should have no problem getting the choice approved by the staff.

The Quest will continue in this manner : players will make choices, they will then build these choices, and the staff will give them the next step.

The first Quest will only require 4 builds (4 choices) over the course of 4 months. The reason for the choices (and consequentially, the builds) being so spread out is that Quests are intended to be fun and not too time consuming. Those of us who are very busy don't have time to post 2-3 builds a month just for Quests. We want players to be able to enjoy this without feeling the time crunch. We also want people to have time to enter the Universal Challenges and build free builds.

In the future, Quests may be longer and more in-depth, but they will start off small.

Instructions

If you are hoping to participate in the very first Quest, follow these instructions.

1. Sign up for the Quest in a comment below and/or a comment in the Quest #1 thread.
2. Build one of the 3 options listed at the bottom of the page.
3. Add it to the Quests group, then comment in the Quest #1 thread that you have completed the first build. You have until July 24th to do this.
4. Wait for a staff member to approve the build.

What to Build

You must build one of the three options listed below. Later on, there will be an option to choose something not listed so that you won't be so limited. However, in the sign up, you don't have that option.

Keep in mind that you may present your Quest Builds as a flashbacks if your character's story is keeping you from participating. You may also use a side character for your Quests. That's actually what I will be doing. Just be sure to specify this when you post your sign-up MOC.

Options #1- Show your character traveling to The 'Gill Inn. Feel free to show any troubles you may encounter. Nothing has to be too specific, you just need to show your character traveling toward the inn.

Option #2- Show your character entering The 'Gill Inn. How the inn looks is completely up to you. You can build the exterior and/or interior.

Option #3- Show your character when they first hear about the Quest. Specifics are completely up to you.

Remember, you have until July 24th to post your first build.

Quoting Thomas of Tortuga This actually looks really good, bro. All the bright colors and the angles make a big difference here. This is totally what Worsan should look like. Also, I don't know if it was Bricklink, but the stonework is much better than your last wall. I think the ground is a great detail, and the characters really add life to the scene. You should do more stuff like this.
Thanks! The rock work is better because I used a much smaller area, which allowed me to use my pieces better. Thanks Thomas :)

Quoting Gabe French No I had a character, Matthew the Fishermen remember? I just have a hard time deciding to stick with one fig for my guy, or should I say that I spend way to much time at our Lego person box and build to many figs that I like and then I want to use them, but the next day I'll make a new fig and I'll like him better then the first and I think you see my problem :(
Ah, yes, I remember you telling us this in the faction group. Here's what you should do: Build the set first, then after everything is ready, pick a figure and go with it.

Quoting Stormjay Rider Ist thy lack of a </div> tag intentional in making this comment section signficant response to the quest notice within this fair game of life that hast been called the Lands of Mythron? If so, canst though cause the font of the comment section to be the same as that of the notice, or hath thou tried that and deemed it impossible?
Tried the </div> already. Tried a bunch of variations as well. No go :/

Quoting Stephen Boe This sounds excellent! I am most definitely going to do this. Hopefully I don't put it off to long, else I might forget about it. On a slightly unrelated note, the yellow background makes it hard to read comments. :P
Glad to hear it! I know, I tried to fix it, but nothing worked. I asked David about it in the staff group :P

Quoting ~ Brick I would join, but I really need to focus on my own story at the moment:P Anyways, good work all around! I have to say though, I really don't think the tile pattern you used fits for a town square. Right now it looks like some pranksters took the time to draw diagonal lines:P
Thanks for the feedback. I would have to agree. I can't really use any other color because I have like 1 dark bley 2x2 and 2 light bley 2x2's :P

Quoting Mr. Cab Most interesting! I probably won't be able to enter the first quest, since I am away from my bricks right now and won't be back until the day the first build is due, but I have some builds photographed that I can post while I am away from my bricks, so maybe I can bend one of those to fit the story... also, a really well done build!
