Chronicles of Sebias, Chapter 4
Saequis and Falian have been captured by a band of Black Knights after the dwarves, greedy and after the reward, tipped them off of their whereabouts...
About this creation
Falian: Master, are you awake?

~groggily sitting up, Saequis looks over to his loyal bodyguard~

Saequis: Uhh...what happened to us?

Falian: The Black Knights - they found us. Those dwarves were not to be trusted. They took our weapons and knocked us out, then dragged us in here, wherever here is...

~Saequis stands up, surveying the surroundings of their cell~

Saequis: Well, we won't get anywhere stuck in this place. Come, help me find a weak spot in the door.

~just as Falian rises, the door seems to shake and a loud clank comes from the other side~

~Saequis steps back, startled, against the cell wall~

width="500" height="375" alt="">

~with a creak, the door swings open and an unfamiliar figure appears in the doorway~

Figure: If you want to live, come with me.

Saequis: Who are you? What do you want with us?

Figure: I'll tell you later, but if you want to escape this place, you have to trust me Mage.

~the figure approaches the two and swiftly slices their restraints~

Figure: Now, get out before we are found, I'll be right behind you.

~sensing no other way out of their predicament, the elves take their only option and step out the door~

3 hours later...

~their rescuer, who had now introduced himself as Coltan, leads the elves to his village so they can discuss what was happening~

Saequis: Are you sure about this, Coltan? The last person to invite us into their home sold us out.

Coltan: I am sure, master elf. Barrof is my friend, he will help us.

~Falian turns to Saequis as Coltan steps up to the heavy wooden door~

Falian: Master, how can we trust this man? He claims to be a knight, that he has royal blood - how would we be unaware of that?

Saequis: I believe we should give him a chance. Besides, we could use some extra protection after they stole my staff.

~Coltan knocks on the door three times and waits~

~after a tense few seconds, the door is unlatched and slowly opens, revealing a small, bearded fellow clutching a smithy's hammer~

Barrof: Coltan! Welcome! You have brought a couple of friends, I see?

~stepping inside the house, Coltan removes his hood concealing his face and lays down his weapons~

Barrof: Let's get right down to business. Who would be the Mage?

Saequis: That would be me, sir. We have a lot to talk about.

~while explaining their story, Barrof stays incredibly concealed with his thoughts, only after Saequis had finished sharing them~

Barrof: So, you were ambushed and taken prisoner, you say? Well, that would explain how Coltan would suspect that.

Saequis: Suspect what?

Coltan: The prophecy.

Barrof: Indeed. The prophecy. It states that the Count, Arakmir, will be overthrown by the rightful king, and that a great army of elves and men will be gathered by a mage and his guard to aid him.

Saequis: Wait, hold on. The rightful king? Who would that be, may I ask?

~a silence hangs in the air for about a minute while the mage pieces the facts together~

Saequis: Coltan?

Coltan: That's right. After Arakmir came to power, I knew he would be out to eliminate his competition, so I went into hiding for several years.

Saequis: So you think Falian and I are the ones who will summon this army? You're out of your mind.

Coltan: Please, Mage, you have to trust me. I have spent years searching for the right match, the right circumstance. I am not wrong.

~nothing is said for the longest of time, then Saequis answers~

Saequis: Very well. If that is what you believe, I guess I have no choice but to take your word for it. We shall aid you in this quest.

Coltan: Thank you. You have just made my efforts worthwhile.

Saequis: But I am not positive yet. I need to consult with another mage to be absolutely certain before making rash decisions.

Barrof: I might be able to help you with that. You need Jareth. He lives in a forest not far from here. He will tell you what you need to know. In the meantime, I understand you lost your weapons...

~a smile appears on Barrof's face~

Barrof: Didn't I mention I'm a blacksmith?

~many clanks of metal are heard while Barrof searches his chests~

Barrof: Aha! I hope these will do...

Saequis: It's not Scar, but I'll make do - this is a fine blade.

Barrof: Well, my friend, I suppose this is goodbye. Good luck, I wish you all the best.

Coltan: Thank you, Barrof. Thanks for everything. Fare thee well.

~just as Coltan begins to leave, Barrof says one last thing~

Barrof: By the way, I couldn't help but notice the fact that you didn't tell them the whole prophecy...

Coltan: They don't need to know that yet. If they did, I'm not sure they'd help me.

~Coltan pulls up his hood~

Saequis: Thank you, master blacksmith. Your generosity and your hospitality shall be forever remembered. Farewell.

Barrof: Farewell, Mage. May you be ever successful in your endeavours. And good luck.

~the trio turn and walk back up road, on the path to knowledge~

Barrof: You'll need it...

More to come...

Sorry it's been a while since my last Moc. I have been through a lot of exams lately and they tired me out a little. I will most likely be more active now that they are over with :) Here is one final picture of the cell the elves were taken to:
