For the First Time in Forever
About this creation

Disney Princess films rarely impress me. You can therefore imagine my surprise when I saw Frozen and genuinely liked it! The plot was decent. The themes and lessons were fairly fresh for the genre. The music was top-notch (particularly the orchestral soundtrack). And the animation was excellent. That said, a MOC had to happen for BrickWorld 2014! My creation features my favorite song from Frozen, For the First Time in Forever

Many thanks to Paul Vermeesch for the full scale white backed pictures! And Beyond the Brick spared me an arduous photography session by highlighting this MOC in a short coverage video (found below). Much obliged gents!

I had to do a double take on Anna's face to make sure it was made out of real bricks! Very clever useage of parts - especially with that turkey!

Looks great! When I saw this from across the room at Brickworld, I recognized what it was immediately. Much to everyones annoyance, it also sparked some people in the crowd to start singing some Frozen songs, so thanks for that, too. Great job, and please keep builds like this coming! I'd love to see this become the new trend!

Amazing job here, best use of croissants and chicken legs ever. I haven't seen the fılm but you've captured a very atmospheric scene perfectly!

Beautiful work on the figure, and the roof texture is gorgeous. It's good to see something outside of the usual themes people build in, and the results are fantastic.

Nice work! I like how you used the ring to connect her upside-down-built head to the body. I have been waiting to do or to see someone do that. Cool!

Quoting {JOG} Josh O. Ian Sir you are an excellent builder and a great guy and a good internet buddy of sorts xD. But I must confiscate your man card for this one :O xD
Haha, ouch. But jokes aside, you've indirectly hit on a subject to which I've recently been giving some thought (buckle up!): Building for public display is very different than building for internet buddies. My goal here was to create something that catered to both the public and my fellow builders. Judging by the MOCs' reception at the con, I think I did okay! Plus it was a blast to branch out and build something from the Disney Princess world. The Lego community has a plethora of castle builders, but next to none of them are working in the Disney Princess department (even with the new sets out). Perhaps I'm on my way to starting a new trend! ;)

I hate frozen. The plot was decent, and the moral was good, the animation was excellent. But it was over hyped. But however, that applies not at all to your creation. Every time I look at your work it inspires me to build on. You are a very talented builder and perhaps one of the best on this website. Keep up the excellent work.

Quoting David . "The plot was fresh" HAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHA! Oh Ian, your jokes get me every time... Wait, that was serious? Oh boy... >.>
Doh! I misspoke! You're right, the plot wasn't all that out of the ordinary, though it had a few more twists than the average Disney Princess film. Anyhow, I meant to communicate that the themes and lessons were fresh. It's not everyday you see Hollywood defining love as "putting others' needs before your own" ~Olaf. There! Hopefully I redeemed myself a little. ;)

Quoting A Plastic Infinity (That is, endless Legos.) Of all the chickenheaded things I've seen today... WOW. Frozen was, I agree, excellent. Although I'm getting tired of hearing that one song that Princess Frostbite sang when she ran away, it's literally everywhere these days. D:
Haha, yes...that one song. Our culture just can't let it go. Though I'm not surprised. Even though the song is adverse to the final message of the film, it caters to our culture's promotion of moral relativism: "No right, no wrong for me." ~Elsa. Granted, the tune is very catchy too.
