My entry for the June Challenge.
About this creation
After months of absence, my character has returned... well. I changed him around a bit. But It'll make sense. I'm also quite proud of the MOC. Enjoy!

The ongoing war had changed me. My hair was cropped short and my uniform had been changed.
So far the Galactic Imperium’s trap had worked. Our troops were scattered, and the enemy had gained a lot of information. To make matters worse, our authorities were furious with us and had no clue what to do.
For the moment I traveled with my friend, Gordon, a rough looking fellow and a true warrior.

Gordon sat down and leaned against a rock, “Hold up, Haldor.”
I stopped and stared down at him, “The enemy is close, Gordon. We’ve got to keep moving!”

“Listen,” said he, lifting his visor, “a man needs rest, especially as old as I.” I kept forgetting he was in his fifties.

“Sorry... but we still need to move!”
“True, young man. True...” Gordon stood up, letting out an exaggerated groan. He looked at me and grinned.

Suddenly, there was a yell. I quickly notched an arrow and Gordon went for his binoculars.
“Imperium!” he whispered.
“How many?” I asked.
“Three, but there’s someone else as well... I think. But come, let’s hide behind these rocks and shoot them down as they come between us. Wait for my signal.” The signal was simple, just a nod of the head, but it worked.

We ran to different sides of the soon-to-be battle field, our weapons ready.

Gordon looked over the boulder. Sure enough, three bluecoated soldiers came walking through. I say walking. For they looked as if they had nothing to fear.

But the fourth was different. He was red clad. An Aurelii footman!
The two Imperium in the front chatted as they walked, “Haha, d’see that one gent last night on the field?”
“Sure did, Bert. He was... ” he stopped to look around, “Someone’s here. Get- ”

He never finished. Gordon gave the signal and he fired. Gordon’s shot met its mark and threw the man off his feet.

I let loose my arrow and it embedded itself in the Imperium’s throat.

As soon as it started, the battle was over. Gordon had already shot down the last Imperium, but, the Aureli was down as well. During the skirmish, the third bluecoat had killed the Aureli before he too was slain.

Gordon ran over to him and cried, “Joseph!”
“What?” I asked.
“Joseph. This fallen hero is Joseph, who was our comrade in the third division that went into war yesterday. Who knows how many other recruits are wandering these barren fields?”

I held Gordon’s gun while he dragged the fallen Aurelii away from the dead Imperium.

Gordon turned to me, his expression sad, “War... I hate it!”
“We cannot flee, Gordon,” I exclaimed, “we must gather what troops are scattered and fight back. Without order, we cannot win. What say you?”
“I second your idea. If that will end this terrible war. Let us go. For Aureli!”

And with that we set off to gather the lost soldiers.

Thanks for looking! C&C are welcome!

Soli Deo Gloria!

Nice landscaping! It has just enough color to be interesting while still making it look like a more bare landscape. Excellent!
