I have lived close to San Francisco for most of my life. I always have a good time going through Japan town. And of course, being a total dork, I naturally like Japanese stuff. Enjoy the tour of the detailed interiors!
About this creation
It wasn't easy to build a street on a slope and make all sorts of different ratios work. But I feel like it was a fun way to "break the grid" of LEGO.
While I didn't experience this rooftop lovers scene exactly, it is inspired from life events ;)
There are a few unofficial prints. I am far too lazy and untalented to make brick built kanji at this scale, cool as those bragging rights would be. I did at least look up some meanings so things make sense....sort of.
Couple of overall shots ruining the illusion ;). The whole thing is just on a good ol 32 stud square. Thanks for visiting and hope you enjoyed!
And if you find yourself saying "this is just a bunch of Japanese stereotypes crammed together"...you are absolutely right.
Oh. My. GLORFINDEL! That is way past radical! Being a fan of Japan too, it would go against my code of honor to not like this MOC. The level of detail is absolutely phenomenal! My favorite parts are the dry cleaners place and the sushi restaurant. The store where the ladies are selling purses is pretty cool too. (Dat gumball machine!) The tea shop (I'm assuming that's the room with the couches and the shelf full of teacups) also gets my vote. The street signs evoke such a Japanese feel to the whole thing. They're really cool. Heck, all of it is really cool! Way to go, bro! Instant favorite!
Mr. Fojtic, this is a fantastic dio! You have packed each and every inch of it with cool details. The gumball machine and the tea pot on the table are just two examples. You can almost hear and smell the whole place as you look at the MOC. Great work. Thanks for posting it!
Love it, love it, LOVE IT! This is such an awesome MOC! I was actually considering building a China town myself. But anyway, you have really captured the Japanese feel in this diorama. And you make it really feel like you are a tourist passing through by all the amazing camera shots! This is one of the best builds I have ever seen! Such an outstanding job! 5/5! :-)
