As per standard landing party protocols, the captain and three department heads beam down to a hostile planet with unknown conditions. The female guest star will learn a valuable life lesson while the Redshirt learns the value of life.
About this creation
Iíve updated and improved my stage set so I wanted to post new pictures while you patiently await the final assembly of the Grissom.

This time I chose the ocean background which was less distracting. (The sound of waves in LDD was nice too.) Some of the pocket doors are non-functional, just as they were on set.

The transporter room. Behind the console you can see the food dispensers, with which an uninvited guest from 1960s America was surprised with some hot chicken soup.

A typical corridor with a turbolift.

The briefing room, which also stood in for the mess hall, gymnasium, chapel, etc. Iíve included a Cage-style monitor just for character. The Enterprise is a twenty-year-old ship after all; Spock served 11 years under Pike before Kirk took over.

The captain's quarters. For a ship this size with 430 crewmembers, there must have been many bunk-style shared quarters as well, but we never saw them.

Further down the corridor we see the classic Jeffries tube in front of Main Engineering.

Scotty will get his bairns working, donít you worry.

Main Engineering. The warp core in the middle was added in season 3, and the reactors to the right were removed.

An overview of engineering. Originally this set had no upper level and no matter/antimatter reactor core. If you watch Kirkís fight with Khan in season 1 it looks quite different from this! On the bottom left is Scotty's office with a working door. Upstairs behind the green windows is the dilithium control room.

This is a close up of one of the reactors, which were on wheels to assist filming. They were great for sneaking around. You might remember them from the time Kirk was hunting down his evil transporter duplicate.

This is the ICU in sickbay.

The examination/operating room.

Whoís shooting McCoy in his own office?

Itís Khaaaaan! The decompression chamber behind has a sliding hatch. This is where Khan tortured Kirk to try to gain control of the ship. It's also where Mira Romaine was saved from the Lights of Zetar.

I think Jim is gonna make it!

A final look at sickbay. I was going to build the Desilu stage around all this but, who has time.
