May UC: Arian meets the Black Lotus...
The Black Lotus have finally come into the open, and rumors say that a faction will fall...
About this creation

The sun seemed to be choked out by the deeply gray clouds that filled the sky. Shadows seemed to be everywhere, lurking naturally throughout the dreary landscape. A single, old yet sturdy house stood in the plains on the outskirts of Reedus. It was the house of Arian, one of Rego's childhood homes, used only when Rego's father, a wealthy and influential member of the royalty, needed a break from the intense politics of Mythron.

Today it was being used for a different reason, however...

Around the house stood two fully armored and cloaked Black Lotus soldiers, ready for the coming battle. Near the door stood a gnarled and scared Black Lotus leader, accompanied by an elite warrior and Rego Arian.

Black Lotus leader: So we have your full support?

Rego: Yes, I am willing to lend you a fair number of my soldiers, as long as I get a say in how the battle is run.

B.L. Leader: Hmm. The Black Lotus agrees to your proposition. Can we use this house as a forward command center?

Rego: Sounds fair to me.

B.L. Leader: Mhaha! Together we shall topple Mythron!

Rego: Hm... Indeed.

Rego suspected there was more to this attack than could be seen on the surface. He would find the Black Lotus' intentions, and if capturing a Mythronian city was part of the deal, all the better...

Two Black Lotus soldiers. I like this look, armored but cloaked.

The teaser pic.

Full build! Love how it turned out.

Arian. Looking stunning, as usual.

I love the textures on the house! Note the door and stairway (and roof).

No figs. :)

I really like the roof and landscaping. :). Color scheme is cool too.

Creator's Comments:

This might be my favorite MOC yet! I love the irregular base and color scheme, it was really hard to find all that dark tan and olive. :P. I love the house, both the stonework on the lower level (2x2 round tiles FTW!) and the roof! The mounted shield also looks cool, and adds something to that empty space. I really like the door and stairway too.

I already have another BioMOC complete, expect it soon! ;)

Thanks for looking! Can't wait for next month's UC! :D.

I'll be honest, the building could use some work. The roof is messy, the tan section is plain, the shield sticks out to much, and the round stones (cartoony) and the black timber framing (dark) contrast with each other too much. While I'm not a fan of the building, I do have to say that the landscape is fantastic, the colors work great. Nice job overall.

Quoting Thomas of Tortuga Nice job on the wall texturing with the 2x2 rounds and the masonry bricks. Even if it's not realistic, it gives a pretty effect. Same on the colors of the ground- they're totally unrealistic, but they still look gorgeous. The masked minifigures do look kind of Nerougish- I think the mask-hood combo actually came from FNJ. Finally, that's a #&$% awesome rallying cry- For Mother Rainos!
Ha, ha, thanks!

Quoting Graham Gidman Yup, that's awesome... I really like this thing, the textures (including the 2x2 round tiles) work really well, in my opinion, and the photos are exceptional! Great work, Toa!
Thanks a bunch Graham!
Quoting Mark McPeek Fantastic work! Great texturing throughout! Forgive my ignorance, but what exactly are the Black Lotus and what is their motive?
Thanks! Um, the B.L. are pretty much a group of much more organized and deadly outlaws who assassinated the king of Mythron, and now they're preparing for all out war against Mythron. ;)

Quoting Mr. Cab Lovely! I saw this over on Eurobricks already (don't have an account, but I browse through topics regularly), but I like it even better without the palisade. Lovely landscaping, and you got some really nice textures on the roof and the ground level. Nice job!

Quoting ~ Brick Very nice Toa! The roof is very clutter, not that hat is a bad thing....it's just looks a bit on the unnatural side. (unnatural as in it wouldn't naturally decay that way) The landscape is very nice! The leaves over leaves is starting to get a bit generic for your builds though. All in all great work! *cough* Mother Mythron is going to win! :P*cough*
Thanks! Hm, I really like the roof. *cough* I can't understand your obnoxious Mythronian accents. :P
Quoting LukeClarenceVan The Revanchist Nice one, lots of great textures going on here.

Quoting Gilbert Despathens Are you sure that those two on the left are Black Lotus? They look kind of like Nerogue spies to me... Anyway, this is a great build and I fully expect it to win five more points for Mother Rainos.
For Mother Rainos! :P
Quoting Ian Spacek Excellent job! The subtle use of olive green and dark orange really draws the eye!

Quoting Cheryl P A lot of wonderful textures and color in your creation.
Thanks!
Quoting David . Yeah, the circle tiles look a bit out of place, (too cartoony) but then again plenty of stone houses have round stones. Well done! You should add a picture with Drazard ripping his sheild out of the wall. :P
:P
Quoting Stephen Boe Wow, amazing work! I'm loving the color scheme and ground/house texturing. While I like the cartoony effect the 2 x 2 tiles give, I personally don't think they belong, I agree with Joe, 1 x 2 tiles would have been better. I also think the shaping of the roof could've been a little better, but all in all, it's fantastic.
Ok, 2x2 rounds are not as well received as I had hoped. I still like them though. ;)

Quoting Joe McGill Awesome colour scheme and house! Now I'm pretty sure I'm not going to win. I have one criticsism though, I'm not a fan of the 2x2 round tiles on walls, maybe some 1x2 tiles would have looked nicer?
Thanks! Hm, there are already a good number of 1x2 tiles. Personally, I really like the round tiles, but I guess everyone has a different opinion.
Quoting Professor B. The irregular base is awesome (colors are great as well)! The stonework is very cool too. Not sold on the 2x2 rounded plates, though. I mean... it looks nice, but would buildings really have stones like that? But an excellent MOC nonetheless!
Thanks! I thought the 2x2 rounds would be like the round stones seen in medieval stonework, since not all the stones used as "bricks" would be the same, and many are much more rounded.
