Seminole Class Attack Helicopter
Prasad Heavy Industries is once again back. In a collared shirt, no less.
About this creation
The Seminole Class Attack Helicopter is the latest from Prasad Heavy Industries' aviation sector. Due to the constant delays from the F-35 program, the rising cost of maintenance for the A-10, and the aging fleet of original Apache and Cobra helicopter gunships, the United States decided on a bid for the next attack helicopter.

The winner, our Seminole Class Helicopter, is unique. It is much larger than most helicopters, with a large and thin set of three helicopter blades. In addition, the machine has two high bypass Turbo Jets, allowing the Seminole to reach high speeds. It comes standard with 40mm main gun. It also has several radar reducing characteristics, including RAM paint. Finally, the Seminole is built out of tough, highly classified armor.

Wow. You actually read all that? Dang.
Seminole Class Attack Helicopter
Righto, so off to the first picture. Straight from Flickr!

Seminole Class Attack Helicopter
Weapons on the wings, all present and correct. Because. You know. Gunship. Also, that cockpit. Well nestled, in that amor. I'm struggling for a metaphor. Or simile. Or personification. Or indeed a noun. And maybe a coherent thought process.

Seminole Class Attack Helicopter
If it looks like the tail section is about to fall off, it's okay. The engines will clog up long before any of the technic half pins bolts give way.

Seminole Class Attack Helicopter
Very wide, innit? Almost seems block like....

Seminole Class Attack Helicopter
Some Half Pin Action! It's okay, I'm only HALF joking. H. <---That was half of a laugh.

Seminole Class Attack Helicopter
In the event of a water landing, the two wings do act as a flotation device. Unless they have holes. Then no. You'll sink.
Actually, once again, you can see the weapons. Those binocular pieces? Actually guns. Or lights. Whatever you want them to be. However you want them to be. Subway. Eat Fresh. Wrong slogan. Moving on.

Seminole Class Attack Helicopter
So you notice all da SNOT work? Actually did take some time; I really wanted something more than just a rectangular angles. Insert a mucus pun here.

Seminole Class Attack Helicopter
Da bottom. A completely legal picture in 12 US states. And Canada. Always Canada.
You may notice something on the left forwardish section of the Helicopter. It's a LANTIRN pod, borrowed directly from the A-10.

Seminole Class Attack Helicopter
The main gun system (which is trained on the Camera Lens) moves in tandem with the gunner's head. If he looks at something, then the gun looks at it. Makes for awkward moments at red lights, amiright?

Seminole Class Attack Helicopter
You may notice across the side the grills. Those are the exhausts for the turbojets. When they are on, the blades actually spin slower, so that they don't, you know, sheer off and chop off the tail and cause a horrible crash and fire and lost helicopter. That wasn't from experience. Clearly.

Seminole Class Attack Helicopter
And a nice picture to end on. Yay-hey!

PHI's Government Issued Subpoena
Yeah, so I have been really busy. I actually built this thing just a week or so after Red Spacecat came up with his VTOL attack gunship (check it out on Flickr, it's really something). Unfortunately, my town was hit with a serious Tornado, and it took out quite a few homes. I spent some time helping out the community, and posting simply slipped my mind. However, as recovery operations start to wind down, and the school year comes to a close, I can happily say I will be back in the game. Expect more MOCs to come!

Thanks for watching!

Quoting Marc "Edge" R.unde Sorry to hear about that tornado! Hopefully, everything will return to normal soon. Talking about tornadoes, this baby looks quite as devastating as that storm! I feel sad for the enemy. Great piece of work! ~Cheers
Thanks Marc! Indeed, we are pulling ourselves back together. Hopefully I can get some more destructive looking things finished soon....

Quoting Bill Ding I have a question for you: I know that your creations are undoubtedly good, are there other ways to get on the front page? I would really like to have something up there and I figured that you may be the person to ask. Another qustion: is this helicopter stealth?
Well yes, on the second part. Uh, well, on the front page, it sorta depends. If you're talking about getting it on the bottom, it just depends on how many likes you get in the hours after your post. Across MOCpages requires above 50 or so likes (or more likes than the last creation on that section). MOTD is totally random.

Quoting Bill Ding Nice heli there! Looks like it might be stealth... At least it would probably be a much better weapon than the Apache or any other gunship designed during the 1980s (I dont know a thing about helicopters, so dont laugh if i got something wrong) 5/5
Thanks Bill! Yeah, the idea was to build a more powerful platform than what we currently have (which is already cute powerful)...

Quoting Tim C Nice to see you're still out there building, Achintya. I like the overall bulky look of this craft. Nice work on the blades and I'm also digging the little splashes of color that show up here and there. Great job!
Thanks Tim! I'm glad the colors weren't too big of a distraction; I did have the correct pieces in light bley, but I felt it was a bit monotonous; glad the blue paid off ;-)

Quoting jack kenyon Aesthetically gorgeous but not airworthy. You need either twin, contra rotating or a tail rotor to stop it spinning out of control. As well as this the stub wings are huge and directly below the rotor wash so will severely limit lift. Then again, it is fictional and cleanly made, which takes much skill to design and make, so 5 star. Well done.
Thanks jack! Like I said earlier, I feel that varying the thrust of the jet engines could minimize any stability issues, and remove the need for a tail rotor. I do agree completely with the stub wings; once again, however, I think that the thrust from the engines can overcome any lift issues. The rotors are mainly present for hovering, while most other movement is coordinate through the jet engines. Though, all in all, it is quite fictional, so ;-)

Quoting Simone YT Is very beautiful...BUT it have only a little "problem" IMHO.The single rotor without the one on the tail...An helicopter can't work without that. The best thing should be to use the coaxial rotor like the Ka-52.After that it will be perfect! Just my opinion....but however...very good work!!!
Hmm. I did feel that perhaps I should've included a tail rotor. However, with the inclusion of two jet engines, I feel that any stability issues could be overcome by varying the thrust from the engines. It may be difficult to coordinate, but should eliminate the need of a tail rotor....

Quoting Thomas of Tortuga Very nice work! The SNOT-work adds a ton of great offsets and detail, while keeping the overall shape sharp and functional. Finally, those giant weapons pods, though totally out of scale with the cockpit, look really beast under the wings. ;)
Thanks Thomas! Indeed; the weapons aren't quite to scale, but I felt the detail made up any discrepancies ;-)

The snot work gives it a nice bulky armored look to it but still looks sleek and nimble. I love the pylons with the ordnance . This looks like one battle ready chopper . As Mike would say " ATTACK!"
Thanks Clayton! Thankfully we were not directly effected, but some families did loose homes. I'm glad you approve of the angles!
