Sunstreaker
Based on the design from IDW's comics.
About this creation
This is Sunstreaker as he appeared in “Infiltration” to “Maximum Dinobots”. That's why he is a Diablo and not a Countach. I started making the car but always had the robot planed so when I posted my Diablo some of the transformation worked and all the “gaps” existed (but no one noticed).

Even this version was blogged by the Lego Car Blog, on May 21 2014
http://thelegocarblog.com/2014/05/21/out-of-the-yellow/

A little have changed from my Diablo. Most noticeable is the rear lights, printed tiles and the rocket launcher.

I made a series of pictures to illustrate the transformation (you can click on all pictures for bigger versions, in case you didn't know).
If you want to see it in real time (or double speed at least) there is a video further down.

If you still don't believe it, here is a video.
(It runs in double speed, it takes 7-8 minutes in reality)

Robot mode.

Some reference pictures from the comic “Transformers Infiltration”.
(Written by Simon Furman and drawn by E.J. Su)

Detail pictures

The underside of the car.

Inside the car.

In the comic his hand can change to a gun and I managed to replicate that.
(it works for both hands)

The robot is quite flexible but there is just enough friction to hold some poses.

Here is a pose I managed to do (you can also see the comics that inspired this build)

This is the third Lego Transformer that I finish. (Taillights was the second, you might be able to guess who was the first.)
I will show that one too but to spread out my creations you will have to wait a month or two.
I have a few more planed but they will take a wile to complete (don't hold your breath, I mean it's going to take a long time)

I started this late 2010 and just recently finished ( May 2014).
It's probably around 1500 pieces and I haven't even attempted to guess the number of hours I spent on this.

Happy 30th anniversary Transformers!

Quoting Michael Crichton What, no headmaster feature? For shame! ;-)
That comment made my day! Obviously I tried but couldn't make it just in that scale so I abandoned it. It got to be the pre headmaster version which means technically the intro text should be “as he appeared in Infiltration” but when I wrote that I had forgotten about the headmaster part, I wounder why? Ah right. Nooo!! Poor Hunter :-(

Quoting Wes Pitter Amazing work! I loved getting little peeks at the variety of techniques you used through your transformation shots and the video. I know how hard it is to build a Transformer that matches the source material. Fantastic job all around!
It took me some time to make the “instructions pictures”. I'm happy someone enjoyed them (more than just showing that its a very complicated transformation). But I will skip them for the next one, I have to much other things going on at the moment. (There will still be a video.) And thanks everyone for the wonderful comments.

Wow. Huge and extremely true to the source material. I think this is the first transformable Lego version of one of my favourite G1 characters, great job!

Incredible detailed and complex transformation! Of course its going to be a little fiddly when a transformer is built on this scale with so many joints and hinges, but the looks more than make up for it. I actually designed my own interpretation of his brother Sideswipe on a slightly smaller scale a while ago, so I know how tricky it is to design one in bricks. Overall fantastic work!

Quoting Henrik Jensen Incredible what can be built from LEGO! It is amazing to see the transformation video. I am surprised that there isn´t any parts Falling of. And you can remember how it all should be twisted and turned. Excellent work.
Thank you! (and the rest of you too) If you watch the video closely you can see some pieces fall of, and that was still the best take. But I have managed once or twice with nothing coming of.

Quoting Ape Fight So cool. In both modes. When you posted the original I did wonder if it was Transformer as there were a few unusually placed panel gaps, but I thought if it was you'd have said so... but you were waiting to surprise us! Awesome job, one of the best Transformers on the whole of MOCpages : ) 5/5
So someone noticed, you should have said something. But it wasn't just to surprise you, I wanted some honest feedback on the car too.

Quoting sam the first In vehicle looks just like the normal Diablo you built (which was remarkable). AAAAAND in robot mode, it looks really good. How the....? Incredible, genius, screaming-antelopes - say what you will, but it'll probably still be an understatement.
The "normal Diablo" was designed with this in mind from the start. When I posted it the legs and shoulders already worked.
