De Havilland Mosquito
About this creation

This is the De Havilland Mosquito FB Mk. XVIII, made in 1/48 scale. This particular version of the Mosquito had a massive 57mm Anti Tank gun fitted to the fuselage, used for taking out enemy ships and U-boats. The Mosquito is my personal favourite plane of all time, and I had been meaning to make it for some time now. I made this plane with my friend, and fellow builder, Mark Britchfield over the past few weeks. Mark has made a Messerschmit BF109

Here is the Mosquito from the front, this one has 8 rockets mounted under it's wings.

The rear, nothing much to say.........

From the top you can see the camouflage quite well, I had to order nearly every single Dark Green piece from Bricklink!

Here is the underside with everything closed......

And here you can see the landing gear and bomb bay doors open, the rear wheel is meant to retract but I couldn't figure out how......

The rockets took me a while to make well! The actual rocket is the 4L bar attached on top.

This is the anti tank gun........ of doom.

Here is the stand.

I then took the Mosquito outside to do some swooshing!

And it subsequently crashed.......

Here is the Mosquito attacking a U-boat! The sea is Marks, and he also helped make the U-boat.

Unfortunately after the pictures were taken, one of my cats dragged the studio completely off the table, which obliterated my mosquito!

Despite a broken pair of Lego handcuffs and spear, as well as my phone charger, I still love my cats a lot too.

Excellent work! Fantastic shaping of the fuselage. I love the camouflage , it's not easy to do with lego . Great job on the retractable landing gear and Bombay. I love the picture of the plane strafing the sub. Brilliant

Quoting Chris Maxter Really nice! How many pieces did you buy? If they are cheap, I could think at my r62...

Quoting Nick Barrett Very well built, nice camo too. Well worth the Bricklink spending, despite the short life!
In all, the pieces only cost about 20 euro. I rebuilt it after the "cat"astrophe, and so it lives on to this day!

Quoting Yann (XY EZ) Hey jet!! Nice to see it now finished! I was waiting quite a time for it ! 8-P it is a magnificent plane! The camouflage is superb; in general the realism and shaping of it is very accurate for such a difficult plane to build in lego! This is another great creation! The mechanism for the wheels is very nice as well! I love the picture with the U-boat. And I'm sorry about your creation after it tried to compete with the cat... 8-D kindly, Yann 8-) Oh yeh and also a 5/5 for it 8-D
Thanks so much! I'm amazed you managed to form such a long comment from my plane!

D.H. Mosquito is because of the many round shapes, really hard to recreate in LEGO. But you have hit the shape quite well and made nice details such as retractable landing gear, bomb doors and a nice camouflage job. Great work.
