Entry to the 100 Piece Brick Built Figure Contest
About this creation

The brilliant contest

Juan Paunch de Leon, most noticeably overweight of the Spanish fleet's explorers, ready for action with his cutlass and parrot friend. His beard is green due to the lack of washing that he does. Proudly adorned on his chest is Her Majesty's holy cross. Let us go do terrible things to natives in the name of god, gold, and glory! Huzzah!

94 pieces, 6 different mystery pieces were used, with multiples of some.

I apologize for sucky pictures, but I wasn't in the mood to do much editing and understand that it may hurt me.

This was a bunch of fun, and I thank the judges for the time frame so that I could be home to compete. One year of college done, only a gazillion more years of undergrad and grad to go! Thanks to the judges for your hard work, and good luck to the other participants.

A pirate's life for me. Almost archetypical and marvellously built. A contest high for me.

Heath! Except this guyís fit and trim. XD (Thatís for the Wiserís. Yeah, Iíll be paying for that one.) Okay, firstly, FIVE Mystery Pieces although, as promised, you have our admiration for using a sixth. ;) Heís truly a successful pirate/conquistador on multiple levels; kudos for the name. All the MPs are wickedly clever; special shout out for oxygen tank epaulets. The banana hilt sort of works but the peg leg and Maltese cross (who knew) more than make up for it. This guy looks as though, even if he obviously didnít find the Fountain of Youth, he definitely ate well along the way. If I have any nitpicking to throw, itíd be that the sizes of his arms are on the lean side and the shape of his sword is more Uruk Hai than conquistador. That said, I feel that there is a potential comic here following his misadventures. Outstanding!

Haha, fun build! Love the paunch and the use of the speakers for a cross, excellent design. Hope college goes well in the coming years - can you write your thesis on LEGO? ;)

Quoting Tim C No fair on the MP's, Tyler. Teacher's pet. But there's no extra credit here;) Really great work! I am still pretty new to your works, but I am enjoying every one that I see show up and realize that I have discovered your stuff about two and a half years after I should have. I also noticed that you've registered for BrickWorld. Can't wait to meet you there, as well as, (I'm hoping), to see those killer busts that you've recently put together. Great work here. I especially like your use of the seaweed for the beard. Best of luck, Tyler.
AH, you'll be at Brickworld? Wonderful! The busts will be there, as will a few others from assorted people, though I will probably not be with them, as I have the V-LUG collaborative display to hang out at. :) I look forward to seeing you there, look for the nerdy 6'9" teen.

An incredibly inventive creation. You sure were able to include many of the mystery parts. He looks a little scary. I don't think he'll get invited to Sparrow Manor.

Really cool, the peg leg and parrot really give a feel to the figure. The use of the mystery pieces is also very inspired!
