100 PBBFC: Paratrooper
My entry into the 100 Piece Brick Built Figure Contest. I'm pretty happy with it, other than the color blocking.
About this creation
100 Piece Brick Built Figure Contest

The other side.

The side.

The back. Originally, I was using the octagonal mystery piece back here, but it looked awkward, so I replaced it with this one.

The head. This was the second design that I did.

A leg. Very weird proportions, but everything else I tried didn't look like it would fit.

The backpack.

A close-up of the gun. Really happy with this, since I usually stink at brick built guns.

Here is the breakdown. I used 84 pieces, with 3 different mystery pieces. And sorry about the different colored background, the white one was making the pieces roll around, so I had to switch it.

I included a partially built LDD file, incase anyone wants it.

Love that you went for an off centre pose. The technic parts in the arms just work here. The head is a great design. Solid building and a solid entry.

Geth! Love this guy’s head and have to admit that having played Mass Effect, he definitely reminds me of the flashlight heads. The gun is actually awesome and well-proportioned to the fig; many times they are way off. His compact stance gives the impression that he is ready for action at a moment’s notice. Additionally, it looks like he could put a world of hurt on any enemy even without the peashooter. Love your technique on the arms; I’ll have to remember that one. I’d say if anything, the legs and feet seem almost too bulky, but I actually like that stance; he seems like a real challenge to knock over. Some wonderful part usage including three MPs. Excellent!

Quoting Michael Rutherford Not sure what makes this guy a paratrooper, but he looks pretty cool. I like the head especially. I also like that you used substantially less than the 102 parts authorized by the contest rules. This guy would look even better hanging out with some other members of his squad, in an aircraft maybe? (Being a paratrooper and all). Attack!
Nothing in particular, I just thought he kinda looked like one. Thanks man! :D

Quoting Tim C Yeah, that's who I mean. He has something new on Flickr every few hours;) But your Paratrooper reminded me a bit of his mech work.
Okay. Thanks again!

Quoting Tim C Love it. The head is a standout feature. I also like the technique for the arms. It has a Maschinen Krieger feel to it. When I first saw it, I thought Pascal had gotten involved in this, and, as I know you know, that is no small compliment. I love that a true combat figure has shown up in the contest. I was afraid mine would be the only one when I post it. Best of luck in the contest, good sir.
Thanks man, it means a lot. Yeah, most of my mechs are somehow related to combat. Pascal? I can't think of anyone with that name, unless you mean pasukaru76 (https://www.flickr.com/photos/pasukaru76/), though I may just have forgotten about him for a second.

Quoting clayton Marchetti P.S. Don't forget to post a link to the contest or I think you will be disqualified. If your not sure how let me know I'll be glad to help.
Oh, thanks so much for telling me. I totally forgot about that. I'll get that added right now.

Quoting Kermunklin the Giant Evil House Head Very cool figure. I actually quite like the color scheme. It looks a lot like a Blacktron themed build, so it's aces in my book. Good luck.
Thanks. The color scheme isn't my problem, I just thought that the colors looked all over the place.

Quoting Alex Sonny Nice! It's cool to see someone else doing robots too (IF this is some kind of robot anyway). The head is really neat because you used the arrow printed piece and the legs are cool too - it looks like he's crouching.
Thanks man! Yeah, I decided a mech would be my best bet because I feel that they are one of my specialties.
