G1 Hound - Preliminary Client Driven Design
...more G1 Transformer goodness....
About this creation
I am currently working on a few client projects, many people have asked, so I just wanted to give some insight into my process.

After receiving a project request, I produce a quote based on parts and labour required, if the client agrees to the pricing, I get the go ahead and a deposit. I generally start by designing and prototyping in both LDD and I also work out some ideas in real bricks (my favourite part). Here are the preliminary renders of an active client driven project: G1 Hound - minfig scale! After any required revisions and client approval, I then order the parts (from my local Lego store and/or bricklink and/or my friendly neigbourhood Lego only (non corporate store) and/or from Lego.com's PAB), then I wait patiently for said parts to arrive (depending on where or what source they are ordered from, they can take up to a month to arrive - PAB from Lego.com takes the longest). Upon arrival of the parts I will then create the model in real bricks or provide the customer the parts sourced and instructions (whichever scenario they have requested). Then its off to the post office and on its way to the happy client. : )

For Hound here I will likely post the final project before the project is shipped to the client or I may make a clone for myself because of all the T-formers I have designed and built in the past 5 years, surprisingly, I have yet to make a G1 Hound. the square boxes where from a Christmas promo - for special members - otherwise If you mean like a full PAB box you need to sweet talk your store manager and they are about $90 a box.
Quoting Disco Chicken In your triptycon wip videos, you always talk about those huge boxes of plates or tiles you get from the LEGO store. Where do you find them at the store??? All I see when I walk in are the big/medium/small cups, and the parts on the wall!

Still not sure what he means!
Quoting andros tempest I just read your discussion with Evan and was curious about the original design. http://www.tfu.info/1984/Autobot/Hound/hound.htm The final image of the vehicle and robot forms look pretty near exactly like the original toy so I'm not sure which gun he's referring to? Maybe it is the idea of storing the shorter gun/rocket launcher on the opposite side of the vehicle mode in the preview image he's referring to. Which to be honest I think is a much more elegant solution to "spare" weapons than the G1 toy, which just had them floating around to go missing.

I think you misunderstand me, I'm not saying the gun doesn't belong there, but rather I just don't like the way it's attached. It's definitely an accurate model but I don't like the way the gun is attached. And Chris Phipson, I basically grew up on G1 VHS tapes. ;)

some slight tweaks and then it will be built in real bricks!
Quoting Marc dZ These little new ball-joints allow impressive build. This G1 is very very cool. To me, it is already acheived.

Don't worry about Evan there Chris. The poor boy has probably never seen the genius that is G1! Now... you gonna add a holographic driver for this or what? ~ Chris.

Quoting MortalSwordsman . Loving this Chris. Car mode is particularly good. I can see you are beginning to use the mixel joints in your transformers too. I foresee many cool mocs to come.

that would be nice but the grill pieces, 1x1 plates, headlight pieces and some more are not yet available surprisingly in dark green yet!
Quoting M<0><0>DSWIM ! Very cool and very recognizable! I love that both modes have that chunky look that you're so good at. I'd love to see a variant in dark green to look more like the toy.
