Sir Adamus stood listening as Sir Kindle, a friend and ruler of Meids, briefed him about the current situation.
"Thank you for coming so fast. I don't know what I would do without you."
"It's my pleasure Kindle. I came as soon as I heard the news about the king. I still can't believe it."
"I need you to act as rear guard until I can bring the majority of the troops inside the city. Don't take any risks Adamus."
"C'mon, you know me. I would never. I have too much to live for."
He glanced quickly towards where Nike was standing talking to Claudius and a new friend, a crossbowman, named Josef. Sir Kindle, seeing this, laughed quietly to himself.

IMG_0273
"I'm serious, Adamus, I don't need dead generals, and I definitely don't need dead friends."
"I understand Kindle. I'll cover your retreat. I should be safe enough with both this phalanx, and with Ranger Gaunt up there."
Adamus glances to the roof, where the skilled ranger had set up. It gave him a good view of the surrounding area, and also gave him a clear shot to almost everywhere. Sir Kindle continued, "I must go now, retreat as soon as you can, but buy us as much time as possible."
With that Sir Kindle started to stride away toward the remainder of the army.

IMG_0274
Adamus glanced around at his troops. All were well trained soldiers, but Adamus felt that something bad was happening. He didn't know what it was, but Adamus knew that not everyone would leave here alive, and that the sun would rise red tomorrow.

IMG_0277
"Enemy contact!"
Adamus heard Gaunt's warning and shouted in turn to his troop.
"You are the best. Your country needs you! Those murderers out there killed our king. They will pay for that. They Shall not Pass! For Mythron!"
"FOR MYTHRON!!!"

IMG_0278
Outlaws charged forward, some down the path, and some trying to sneak up from the sides. They were a motley group of humans and orcs. The Mythronians shouted their challenge at the charging enemy host.

IMG_0279
Gaunt's arrows quickly took a toll on the enemy. Every arrow he fired slammed effortlessly into a weak point in the armor of an enemy.

IMG_0280
Even with this, the enemy continued to flow in, right past the bodies of their fallen companions.

IMG_0282
Without anyone noticing, a Black Lotus assassin crept up and killed two of the defenders.

IMG_0286
Then, swiftly, before anyone could see him, he climbed the vine on the outside of the building, hoping to find a way to get behind the devastating phalanx of the enemy.

IMG_0287
Noticing a newly made gap in the defense, an orc ran forward, intent on breaking through the line.

IMG_0288
Arkanian, noticing at the last minute the orc attacking from the side, stuck out his shield and blocked the devastating blow by the enemies halberd.

IMG_0289
Meanwhile the assassin slipped silently into the building.

IMG_0290
He landed silently on the purple floor.

IMG_0291
He straightened up and stared at the angry magician who's house he had just entered.
"WHO DARES DEFILE MY HOME?!?!?!?!"
The assassin quaked in terror, then started forward, hoping that he might have a chance to kill the wizard before the wizard killed him.

IMG_0292
The wizard, not fooled, let loose a torrent of flames from his hand which quickly engulfed the dark cloak of the assassin. The assassin screamed as his whole body burned up.

IMG_0293
All that was left was his sword, his charred hood, and a few burning embers on the purple tiles.

IMG_0294
Outside the situation was getting worse. An enemy archer attacked adding his arrows to the frenzy of the battle.

IMG_0295
His first target, no surprise, was Gaunt. He fired an arrow quickly at him.

IMG_0296
Gaunt dived quickly out of the way, easily dodging the poorly fired arrow.

IMG_0297
He Stood up again, and fired at the archer, killing him immediately.
"Adamus!" Gaunt called, "This battle is getting to be too much, I need to pull back. I suggest you do the same"
"Not yet!" Adamus shouted over the battle, "We must give Kindle as much time as we can."
With that, Gaunt slipped to the edge of the roof and dropped down to his waiting horse.

IMG_0298
After 15 minutes of deadly combat, the enemy forces finally got the break that they needed. One outlaw lunged forward and manged to bear his ax down, right into the face of one of the defending Mythronians.

IMG_0299
Immediately the outlaws charged for the gap created, attacking with new life. The Mythronians, being bombarded by a swift and unexpected renewal of attacks, fell back, and both soldiers bearing pikes were cut down, because they did not have short range weaponry. Josef was injured and left in the rocks to die.

IMG_0300
Adamus and the remaining men retreated, then stood their ground, trying to hold as long as they could. Arkanian, however was cut off, and was unable to join with Adamus. Luckily most of the enemy ignored him and charged uselessly at the reformed shield wall.

IMG_0301
But not all. One outlaw walked towards him, dragging a mace through the dirt behind him.

IMG_0303
The outlaws swung the deadly weapon in an arc, aiming right at Arkanian's head. Arkanian, with as much strength as he could muster raised his shield arm, and braced for the blow. The mace slammed into his shield with the force of a battering ram, nearly knocking it from his had. Then Arkanian noticed that the chain and wrapped around the shield.

IMG_0304
The outlaw pulled back his wrist, and with a painful wrench Arkanian's shield was ripped from his hands.

IMG_0305
The outlaw swung again, but Arkanian dodged, and stepped in close enough that the mace was rendered useless, and swinging his sword in a tight arc he decapitated the outlaw.

IMG_0306
The outlaws headless body fell, and Arkanian stood with his back against the wall to protect against ambush.
"Get out of there while you can!" Adamus shouted to him, "Pull out"
"It's no good, I'd have to get through that wall of outlaws between us. I'm as safe here as I am there." He raised his sword, daring any outlaw to come at him.

IMG_0308
From behind the piles of dead enemy came the next warrior. It was a huge Halidra, a big brute with huge muscles. He was carrying with him a large, blood stained ax.

IMG_0309
The outlaw swung the heavy ax in a deadly overhead arc, and using the little strength he had left, Arkanian blocked the blow. He was exhausted from the mental and physical drains of battle. Only the adrenaline coursing through his bod kept him up and swinging.

IMG_0310
Arkanian swung with his great sword, trying to kill the outlaw before he was killed. His sword barely missed the outlaw's head, but even a he puled back the sword, the deadly ax buried itself in his chest plate, digging into his chest. Blood began to trickle down his chest. The outlaw pulled his ax out, and blood soaked the already stained blade.

IMG_0311
Arkanian slid slowly to the ground. Already his vision was fading. The outlaw just stood there. He seemed content to just stay there and watch him bleed to death. Arkanian, struggling with every breath, began formulating one, last, desperate plan.

IMG_0312
With his last few breathes, he lunged for the outlaw. The outlaw tried to duck back, but Arkanian still managed to bring his great sword down into the outlaws temple, ending it's life. Arkanian staggered as his vision went black. the last thing he felt was the spray of blood from the outlaw's temple as he yanked his blade out.

IMG_0313
He fell back and landed there at the wall, where he had made his last stand.

IMG_0315
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!" Claudius shouted in anger, "Arkanian!!! Nooooo!" They had been friends from before they had even come from Nerogue to Mythron. The death of his oldest friend cut like a sword into the young man's heart.

IMG_0317
Adamus, for some reason completely clear-minded. He strode calmly forward, and the outlaws, unnerved by such and odd response backed slowly away.

IMG_0318
Adamus screamed in anger and anguish and his gloved hands came up in the air. Everyone stared in amazement as the gloves caught fire, not from some outside force, but from the inside.

IMG_0319
The gloves burned away completely and in his hands were two small flames. The outlaws, who had been mesmerized, began to see the danger in the situation and began to back away faster.

IMG_0320
The flames increase steadily in size.

IMG_0321
Shouting in amazement and anger, Adamus let loose a torrent of flame. The outlaws were now running as fast as they could, but it was not enough.

IMG_0322
The flames grew larger and the outlaws were consumed in the flames, as Adamus's rage was consumed.

IMG_0323
All the outlaws dead or gone, Adamus fell to his hands and knees. His armor was charred and his cape had burned up. In his anger he had nearly consumed his entire energy reserve.

IMG_0324
He stood, and addressing his men said, "Search for survivors. We shall carry them back to Meids with us. We've bought Kindle as much time as we can.

IMG_0325
He then promptly fainted and fell to the ground painfully.

IMG_0326
They grabbed him and Josef, and walking quickly headed for the city.

IMG_0327
They left behind a field of broken bodies.

That's it! The story's over! Now, onto the build.

IMG_0328
The whole thing.

IMG_0329
My first attempt at this style of architecture.

IMG_0330
Foliage and Froggy. Pond too.

IMG_0331
Foliage and rock.

IMG_0332
Wizard's house, complete with wand, potions, Owl named Archimedes, and odd potion.

IMG_0333
Stereotypical wizard owl with stereotypical wizard's owl's name.

IMG_0334
Rat hunting his natural prey, olive cheese. Little does he know that he too is being hunted.

IMG_0335
Where olive cheese comes from, obviously.

Now Join Mythron, or face our shield walls.

Fourth thingy:
Yes, I know this is written in 3rd person, while my last few were in first person. This one sorta needed to be in 3rd person. So, forgive me for changing from my norm. Special thanks to Julia LeeP and Brick. Julia allowed me to use her creation, Mythronian Rangers, in this MOC. Brick gets this shout out, because we're great friends and we did a crossover for this UC. Next, you guys may have noticed the quotes at the start. I have decided to add quotes to the start of all my new MOCs that come out. The quote will always have to do with the MOC at hand, hence the quotes about war and death. I spent three or more hours taking pics and uploading, so please give me your thoughts, questions, LIKES, whatnots. Good night MOCpages!

Quoting Thomas of Tortuga Really nice work! I like the coloring on the building and the contrast with the olive vines. Also, the story is very good. In the first few pictures, the ground is rather plain, but after that, the action covers it all up nicely. Very good job! Oh, and in the second-to-last picture in the story, Adamus is grinning straight at the camera :P
Thank you! Yes, yes he is... :3
Quoting Harry Wilkinson Wow. Just...wow... Amazing. One of the only MOCs to make me sad, even though this is the first MOC of yours I've read.
Well, maybe you should read more. :P This one is probably the one that I made to be most sad, so it obviously did its job.
Quoting Kai Bernstein Hey man, could you update your scores for the NLO? Thomas is prepping Round 2, but we need to know who moved on first. :P
Done. Sorry about that.

Thank you!
Quoting ~ Brick Nice build man! I really enjoyed the story, and personality you added to Sir Kindle
Glad you liked it. I was trying to redeem him, get him off the trail of Sir Kindle the Bloody. :P
Quoting Lindel Baskin Looks great, Ian! Definitely your best work so far. Nice story, too. The tree and house are both excellent, and I like the foliage and water. The flat, stony ground could do with some layering to create texture. Excellent work overall! Keep it up!
Thank you!
Quoting Timothy Post Very good MOC Ian, So that is where olive cheese comes from.:)
Yup.
Quoting Julia LeeP Seriously, Ian, Ranger GAUNT? No wonder he is so angry looking :P... About the story, that is what you call intense fighting indeed. Maybe a little too intense for my liking, but well written. I especially love the quotations at the beginning; I might want to start doing that too. And about the build, this is definitely one of your best yet from what I've seen. The tree, especially the SNOTted truck, is one of the better designs I've seen so far (which is saying a lot), although the leaves on it are a little too orderly for my tastes (almost as if they were pruned). The dark grey ground does, however, seems bare and without texture, and the foliage coloring could use some help, methinks. For the building, the messy grey stonework on the bottom looks great here, but the top, especially with the large window, looks kind of out of place; same goes for the thin vine. But overall, this was a very good build of yours, and I look forward to seeing more.
Ooh, complicated comment! Time for answers. First, I chose that name because Rangers (in the books you based them off at least) are thought to be grim and mysterious. I thought Gaunt would be suiting for a nice and Grim Ranger. Most of the names I make up tend to have something special behind it. For example, Nike is the Greek goddess of victory, which is why it fits well for that character's name. All Mythronians are automatically victors. Next, thanks. My writing is not normally this intense, and is normally quite laid back, but this story really needed to be intense to sum up all the feelings in it. Third, I'm glad that I've inspired you. Now, to your thoughts on my build. I guess the pruned look was meant, in a way, since this is the beginnings of a city I guess I subconsciously did that on purpose. I know the grey is unstructured. I have two reasons for this. I had almost no time left for building this, so I had to rush. Also, for the majority of the MOC, it was supposed to be covered up. But those are really weak excuses I guess. I've done some good texturing before, and will definitely try to include it in upcoming MOCs. I'll try out new foliage techniques too. Next, the large window was sorta meant, mostly for the use of the wizards owl. Vine, I thought it looked good, but everyone is titled to their opinions. I also can't wait for my next MOC, not to mention yours. Thank you for the opportunity to make a massive comment. I should have answered everything you said and all the OTHERS. Thanks again!

Quoting Stephen Boe Noice! My favorite part is definitely the building. Great textures there! The minifigure action and posing is also really cool! The grey ground could still use some more details, though. :P I agree with Halhi, though, your best!
Thank you!
Quoting David . There are so many feels for no reason. O.o Nice build GREAT story. :)
Wut? Thanks
Quoting Kai Bernstein Your best yet indeed! The tree, rock and foliage all look great, as does most of the stonework (grill bricks never work as masonry). The upper levl of the building is a bit odd-looking, but it gets the job done. I think the path could be more condensed, though, and the rest of the ground could use some layering. The story is nice, but I'm indignant at the treatment of the Black Lotus assassin. Quaking in fear? Nonsense! He'd kill the old geezer in a flash. :P
Well, he sure went out in a flash. :P Thank you Kai.
Quoting Asad . Nice build! One of your best! I think it is funny how Adamus stays safely behind the shield wall until the end. :P
Well, he needed to be back there to command his men. That's how a shield wall works. Thank you!
