At The Cross.
Today is Good Friday; its a day that we remember the incredible sacrifice that Jesus made for us. Its beyond words to even express the thankfullness I have for what he did for me. To endure such a terrible death on the cross, so that I might live... Today I want to do something, even in such a small way, to honor Him a little. He has been challenging me lately, to use all my gifts for His glory, and I hope this is one way I can do that.
About this creation
"How Deep the Father's Love for us."
"How vast beyond all measure."
"That He would give his only Son."
"To make a wretch his treasure."

Thanks for viewing everyone I hope you enjoyed it, but most of all I hope it got you looking homeword. I pray that you would remember what Jesus has done for you today.
God Bless,
Justin

Extremely well done water fall! I think that it would be cool if you added Jesus in it or something.

Great work Justin! not only is the landscaping picturesque, but the cross's subtle texture matched with the purple cloth looks great! He is risen! @Matthew: That comic says it all!

Justin, this is beautiful. I'm not the most religious guy in the world, but I can appreciate the love that went into this work. It is a fine tribute to Christianity and the selfless sacrifice on this most holy of days. From the standpoint of a MOC, it is so well put together. I love your use of the 1x1 round plates to add texture to the Cross and the addition of the waterfalls adds a certain serenity to the whole. Superb work, good sir. @Matthew - I respect your conviction, my friend. I really honestly do. But for one to appreciate the artistic expression of another, no matter the theme, doesn't necessarily merit what really appears to be an attack, whatever your intention. This is not in defense of Luke's statement, (he doesn't need that from me or anyone), but just a request to keep the comments section from becoming a venue for debate. There are groups for that. You are entitled to your beliefs and positions and I'm not attempting to belittle that. I mean this comment with the utmost respect for you as a person and a fellow builder as well as your devotion.

Wonderful work Justin! :) His sacrifice for us sinners brought up hope, love, and ETERNAL LIFE WITH HIM! Thanks for sharing, and boldly expressing your love for our savior! God bless! Soli Deo Gloria!!!

I couldn't help but notice your comment. It IS a GOOD Friday for a VERY GOOD reason. Jesus died for US, a perfect sinless man died for sinners. How would you feel if you, as a sinner, deserved to die a horrible death to pay for all your sins, but someone took your place, dying for you, and instead of condemning you, he forgives you of ALL your sins? Jesus did just that, except more. He did it for EVERYONE. He loved us so much that he was willing to die for us. Wouldn't you feel "good" (except 10000 times more)!!!!? For a more visual explanation, check out this short comic strip, it explains it in a very simple but straightforward way. http://ow.ly/i/5ibvZ I hope you understand now why it is called "Good" Friday! If I was a little harsh/expressing my thoughts too strongly, I apologize. :) God bless you! Soli Deo Gloria! ~Matthew~

Quoting Justin L. Sorry if I misinterpreted your tone in this MOC, but Easter is a time of rejoicing, not sadness. We should be happy and joyful of what Jesus has done and not adopt a bittersweet thankfulness for His sacrifice. Once again, if I misinterpreted your tone, my bad; whether or not I did, thank you for posting this kind of message in a largely non-Christian community. And finally, nice MOC! :p
Your absolutely right, Easter is a time of rejoicing, however this build was made for Good Friday. Although my intention was not to invoke sadness (more to realize the beauty of his sacrifice.) it's hard to rejoice at the thought of my Lords sorrow. I begin to rejoice at the thought of my saviour, risen from the dead in victory. Then it no longer feels bittersweet.

"On a hill, far away, stood an old rugged cross, the emblem of suffering and shame and I love that old cross, where the dearest and best, for a world of lost sinners was slain!" Beautiful, and a good way to show your love for him, even if in a small way. :) Excellent moc!

Nicely done MOC, with a nice purpose-- if a bit historically inaccurate. What is the way people reached this cross (unless the lack of roads is symbolic)? Where are the other two crosses? Where's the sign on top? (At least that's a sign that I read the Bible enough. :P)
