The high-tech Attack/CAS variant of the V-22 Osprey.
About this creation
After years of service on the front lines, it became apparent that the Osprey needed an upgrade, and one with weapons. Instead of renovate all existing Ospreys by equipping them with LAS-60 Guardian retractable autocannons (a process that would have been very expensive and time consuming), a program was launched in early 2017 to produce 50 Ospreys specifically for the Close Air Support (CAS) and attack role. Armed with a fixed forward-firing 25mm chain gun (similar to the one featured on the M2 Bradley IFV), a 30 Cal. retractable Guardian autocannon, and two stub-wing pylons that can be outfitted with Hydra-70 rocket pods, AGM-114 Hellfire missiles, BGM-71 TOW missiles, and a variety of anti-air and air-to-ground missiles. It also has two forward door mounted guns that can be manned by the crew chiefs, and a .50 Cal. machine gun mounted on the tail ramp of the aircraft. Though they lost their ability to carry troops due to the added weight of the weapons and hardware, the upgraded Ospreys quickly proved their worth through their range and speed capabilities, and their abilities to hover over a combat zone and provide large amounts of sustained covering fire for transport Ospreys and other ground forces through a multitude of weapons platforms. The thundering boom of the chain gun and the humming whir of the Guardian autocannon rapidly became a sound to be feared on the battlefield...

View of the belly-mounted retractable 30 Cal. LAS-60 Guardian autocannon. It is controlled either remotely by the co-pilot or lead crew chief, or by the upgraded fiber-optic Target Aquisition Designation Sights (TADS) system which combines elements from the TADS used on the AH-64 apache, and the Electro Optical Target System developed by BAE that is used on the F-35 Lightning II. The TADS, located on the belly, senses and tracks hostile ground threats and automatically engages once switched to "active engage mode" by the pilot or co-pilot.

Quoting david drake amazing digital build! While picking bricks and snapping them together by hand, this is a whole nutha' level of patience required.
Thanks! And using LDD surprisingly isn't all that difficult, though it can be quite frustrating at times when it won't let you do something or place a piece in a way that you know for a fact works IRL :P

Quoting Garrett Bodily Awesome!
Quoting That guy you saw earlier Wow! That's a great lego representation! I love the Osprey and this creation is great!
Thanks guys!
Quoting Luke V I never understood why they wouldn't make this for real life combat... It would be so useful!
I don't really understand why Ospreys haven't been armed either. A few did receive a retractable defense system developed by BAE back in 2006 that served as the basis for my Guardian autocannon, but the vast majority of Ospreys still only have the tail gun. It's a bit strange to me. You'd think something as big as the Osprey that seems like a flying bulls-eye should have at least SOME defensive/offensive capabilities!
