USS Missouri
At last its just about finished a few pieces and rigging but until i have a better place to display it,it will have to do. nearly 3 years building this one,10,000s of parts,as for size it now stands 4ft 6 inches high.3ft wide and a massive 24ft 3 inches long, not counted the studs LOL.The stern crane is motorized, and the bridge has lights as you have seen in my other updates.it was a struggle to get the turrets to sit with the weight of them but bricks on their side worked well in the end, this is the ww2 version with as many guns as it had at the wars end, big thanks to Raymond Drum who gave me the idea to build this and his vast knowledge has been most helpful as has all your comments and advice in the past,Also Michael K who,s missouri was very hepful to building this one.i could post 100s of photos of this as its my most detailed and biggest by far.hope you all like it,planning the saratoga cv3 in the near future which is around the same size as this,

thanks everyone for your help, advice on this and kind comments,if it wasnt for MOCpages i could never have been able to build this, studying your techniques on builds and using that on my own.would be nice to display it in better surroundings, over 3 yrs looking at photos, plans the history all make it very interesting while you build,i used to think the Yamato and Bismark were the best battleships of ww2,BUT after reading about what these ships were like they dont come close, except for 18"guns there superior in every way,now for the USS Saratoga once i gather a few pieces because this has used so many, thanks again and thanks for looking

Quoting Raymond Drum I'm awestruck Jim! I've followed this creation since the idea came about, as well as many of your others. It is truly amazing, especially the fact that it's minifigure scale. Didn't see that in the write up and figured to mention that to others who see this. I was certainly glad to assist how I could especially since I'm partially to blame for you starting it. However, all the credit certainly goes to you due to your work, time, patience and a good eye for detail, obviously. Not enough smiley faces to rate this one. Now pardon me as I pick my jaw up from the floor.
ifit wasnt for you suggesting it i would never have thought of building it so some credit has to go to you

Quoting Tommy Styrvoky amazing to see it's finally complete. Sorry about not getting around to build the rotation mechanism for the turrets, i got a little distracted with other builds, but i'm still willing to build them if you want.
i wont be making them motorized now but it would be nice to see how you would do it for future reference

Quoting jd davis great work! Can the main turrets rotate and elevate their guns?

Quoting Jet Best This is a truly monumental build! It's funny how it's so much bigger than all the other ships behind it!
believe it or not all the ships, planes, trucks etc are all built to minifig scale, just shows the sheer size of the missouri, overall its 1 foot longer than it should be but i think it looks better that way.

Quoting Matt Bace Epic, simply epic. It's amazing to see a large ship modeled at this scale. The individual bricks fade away into the curves of the hull. One question though, how will you transport this thing if you ever need to?
it seperates into 7 sectinon anything from 2.5ft to 6ft funnels can come off conning towers main turrets secondary gun battery can all be removed, but its still a struggle to move carefully slide a board under each section and lift it between two of us,the hull uses megablok 2x2 connecters to clip it together and hold it as one piece,

Quoting Christo Tracey BIG thumb up! Not 100% sure about the plane (A Grumman Duck?), but that's nitpicking. Awesome build, good job!
yes the planes are a bit of a let down, but i was more concentrating on finishing it after 3 years lol,

It is pity MOCpages dont have 10/5 rating ... things I value most in life is sophistication and much effort that was put in the object. Hats of to your creation, I cant imagine how long it took to complete this. Great job, I hope you would win a number of contests with your magnificent work :D
