First episode in the life of Sozo the Great. This is for Ronin rank in the Outlaws.
About this creation
Faction = Outlaws.
The Lands of Mythron

Season I.
Season II.
Prologue
Episode II

(Note- Captions above pictures.)

CLANK! The gate lowered heavily behind them. The guard ushered Sozo deeper into the fortress. It was warmer here, thanks to many fireplaces, but new shivers ran up the grer’s spine. He was left alone at the huge doors to the throne room. They creaked, then slowly swung inward.

He forced himself to walk the crimson carpet; to keep his gaze locked confidently on the Coordinator though a cartload of worries tumbled inside his head.

Halfway seemed close enough.

“I must say that I’m surprised to meet you, Sozo,” the Coordinator began. His tone was quiet, but echoed off the stone walls. “Of the letters that reach me, perhaps a sixth are genuine. From what I hear, you’ve fulfilled your side of the bargain bringing 15 outlaws, most with great potential. A few warriors my organization would love to train, strong builders to continue the work here, and some with precious information. I want them assigned at once!”
“Thank you. What about your end of the deal, sir?” Sozo questioned evenly. “Or how am I to address you?”
“Coordinator satisfies my ego, but the grander the title the better. I will make you a Ronin, though I hope you rise quickly to higher ranks. This means you will do missions for us and we will provide the weapons, armor, and supplies you need along with a residence here in Bodus Minor. So, who makes up your inner circle? Those you may keep under your command, pick four. If you need others, my organization will provide if your mission is approved.”

Sozo had to think. Most of the team had found roles that suited them over the past few days of mingling and exploring in Bodus Minor. The Cyclops, Morthain, of course, and most of the new guys were all keen on joining the reconstruction of this place. Brad and Kobin seemed eager for training, but Elshak said he’d gotten enough of that as an assassin and would rather teach. Even Cal would take a position in the archive for his knowledge, and offered to look after the kid as he’d always wanted a son. “Joshua, Dothel, and Servant, the minotaur…” Sozo knew there was one other person who’d rather follow him then take a specific role here, “ and Zaliborn.” (Don’t remember the names? Find them here!)

“Fine.” The Coordinator mentioned, “You remind me of myself, Sozo. That’s a good thing. Not because I’m great or anything of the sort. No one should look to me for a role model! But I did make something great, and I think you can do likewise. We’ve both been hurt by Mythron, suffered much hardship at their hands, but that must be put aside. As much as I despise them, we have worse enemies. Even Rainos considers us a threat now.”

“What will you have me do?” Sozo probed.
“Among the other worthless mail, I have received strange notes and threats from the Black Lotus, a group which recently assassinated the High King. For some time they’ve been recruiting, often by force, people from my network and now seek to take the power of this whole faction by taking the head off our organization. I think you understand,” the Coordinator explained. He waited for Sozo to nod in agreement, before continuing, “We have a lead that there is a Black Lotus base-camp due south, and I want you to be part of destroying it.”

This was big news, too big to take in. The High King of Mythron was dead? Sozo was glad to be hundreds of miles from Reedus. Here the safety of him and his men seemed like a guarantee, but the cost was a dangerous mission. He couldn’t turn back now. “Very well.”
“Excellent! There is still much planning to be done, which you will join in, but the schedule is to depart at the week’s end.” The Coordinator extended a hand and Sozo shook it. It was settled; he was a Ronin now!

“Your Supremacy, sir,” the Coordinator’s secretary poked his head in, “Henry the spy is here to speak to you.”
“Yes, yes, I know. Please take Sozo, my good Ronin, to get some new armor and send that hideous Mythronian garb to the smithy!”
Yes, Your Supremacy.” The secretary turned to Sozo, requesting, “This way, sir.”

That crown is hilarious, but the slope usage and the tiles are really nice, too!

I don't know. I agree that with Lego it is usually best to limit colors but now and again some MOCs look really good with a lot of color. Perhaps there's no solid rule for it, you just have to do whatever is best for the MOC or what you have to pieces to complete. Color can also help make differing aspects of a build stand out. Such as the black around the skull behind the throne and the beige on the shelves. My problem is always trying to build things bigger than I have the parts for so that leads to a lot of improvising.

Quoting Mr. Cab I was looking at this again and spotted the awesomely shaped alcoves in this picture: http://mocpages.com/image_zoom.php?mocid=385631&id=/user_images/44333/1397047977m And I've got to say that that is just a brilliant idea. I love it, it adds so much to the room in general, not to mention that it is a nice display of techniques. Awesome job!
Thank you! I'd been trying find a new use for those pieces and was excited to incorporate them into a MOC.

The colors and designs here are awesome! Great use of Mathias's crown, and the incorporation of the the upside-down arches is really neat.

@OoL: Okay, I just didn't know whether it was color scheme or lack of pieces. But I often have the same problem: that is why most of my builds are on the smaller side. Oh, and about the room part of it... yes, I guess you're totally right, but do you think that adds much to the look of the room? My room probably has more colors than TLG has, except it isn't exactly pretty. Just a thought...

Quoting Julia LeeP A nice interior, Object! I especially like the detailing you did by setting objects in hollows in the walls, and also the diagonal flooring.Oh, and also the shaping of the carpet was unique. One suggestion here is to limit your colors, and pick them carefully;
Thank you very much. Yes, there quite a few colors but I can't do it any other way right now. Besides, if we take a look around our own rooms every color of the rainbow will likely greet our eyes!

A nice interior, Object! I especially like the detailing you did by setting objects in hollows in the walls, and also the diagonal flooring.Oh, and also the shaping of the carpet was unique. One suggestion here is to limit your colors, and pick them carefully; as far as I can see you used red, dark red,yellow, two shades of gold, silver, grey, dark grey, dark tan, tan, white, neon red, neon orange, neon yellow, brown, and blue (on Sozo). Having a lot of colors that don't particularly go well together often can be overwhelming. Overall, though, I like your writing and photos, and am looking forward to more Sozo in the future.

Yeah! I've seen a lot of diagonal flooring lately and wanted to give it a go, but I had to pull tiles from everywhere to get enough.
