2014 Mocathalon: The Ford of Bruinen
About this creation
The 2014 Mocathalon

Category: Paire Daire

Team: The Last Brickbenders

The scene from Lord of the Rings where the ring-wraiths and their horses are drowned by Glorfindel in a torrent of water horses.

Only two pieces were used, the 1x2 brick and the 1x2 plate - so really, I only used one type of piece - Mercy points judges? If I had enough plates I would have used some cheese slopes in there as well, but alas, don't we all wish we had more lego?

This was extremely difficult to photograph - so I'm sorry for the blurry pictures!

One more entry to go!

As the initial creator of this category back in the MO, I've got to say this is one of the coolest versions I've seen! Someday I'll have to try the challenge out for myself. ;)

Quoting Justin L. Thank you for the refreshing book-accurate description of this scene (Glorfindel) :) nice work with the water!
Indeed, that scene was definitely one of the ones that the movie messed up :p Thanks for noticing!

Quoting Gabriel Thomson Wonderful! You chose your parts wisely and came up with a great outcome. The plate bending on the water looks really organic. Best of luck! :)
Thank you Gabriel! It was a lot of fun to sculpt, though this entry probably took the least time to build of all of mine :D

Quoting Kevin Moyer That is impressive! You sculpted that very well, and even though there's only two different pieces, it's still recognizable!
Thanks Kevin, it was a fun challenge to see if I could make something organic out of only 2x1 pieces
