The infamous Delta Tau Chi Deathmobile, built at Miniland scale.
About this creation
One of the greatest movie vehicles ever from one of the greatest movies ever -- the Delta Tau Chi Deathmoble from National Lampoon's "Animal House". Without a doubt, the most bad-ass Lincoln Continental ever. In this scene, we have Bluto opening the hatch and getting ready to begin plundering, while D-Day (in the driver's seat inside) revs the engine on his final approach to ram the grandstand.
I can almost hear Dean Wormer's voice now: "I hate those guys."
I realized after I finished building this model that the turret is a little small compared to the movie version. I was working primarily from a version of the Deathmobile that had been created independently after the movie, and there were apparently some discrepancies in some of the features.
Thanks. Yes, I saw that. GeekyTom's comment over on Flickr tipped me off. If your Space Shuttle launch forced perspective MOC doesn't get some love from one of the blogs, then there is something wrong with the system. That's one of the best things I've seen in a long time.

Ha ha this is great! The teeth look awesome. I like how you did the lettering very clever. Pathetic pin-striping looks fantastic. Excellent work!
Thanks! The lettering took a little thought. I realized pretty early on that trying to do it simply with plates and bricks would be next to impossible on a curved surface, at least at this scale. I was thinking of creating an "E*t Me" cake for the Deathmobile to pop out of, but the trouble I had with some of the details on the car convinced me that it might be too much effort.

YES! That's brilliant! AND you even got Bluto in there. One of my all time favorite movies. Classic. Just watch out for Neidermeyer. ;) Perfectly awesome!
Thanks. Bluto was an absolute requirement. I was thinking of building the "Eat Me" cake shell to go around the Deathmobile as well, but after the headaches I had creating the "DTX" writing on the side of the turret, I decided to quit while I was ahead.

What a vehicle that are awsome details. The teeth look real scary. Just wonderful your idea
Thanks. The teeth may have been the detail that took me the longest time to create. I must have gone through about a dozen iterations before I finally settled on this version. I wanted to make sure that they looked ferocious enough for the Deathmobile.
