Guild: Crimson Knights
About this creation
The Tourney 2014

Category:
Toa Infernum vs. Andrew the Jedi Ninja
-The Final Joust:
The various guilds have put on an impressive showing throughout the entire tournament and now the last day of the Tourney has arrived. Only one event left - The Final Joust. Build a MOC depicting the remaining knights competing for the greatest honor of all in Carthal’s spectacular jousting arena. Only one will emerge victorious! Feel free to use anything in your building arsenal to win the challenge.

Avelese has made it to the final round of The Tourney, how fitting that the final challenge is a jousting tournament.

He knows that he's up against one of the best, and that beating him would be difficult.

Nonetheless, he would do his best, for Nerogue and the Crimson Knights were counting on him...

The two finalists lined up their horses and began to race at each other.

Who will win this final joust and thus the Tournament?...

First off, I'd like to thank all the judges for their time (and treasure) that they put into making this contest. This was really fun, and whoever wins I'm sure will be the right winner. Infy, great entry, may the best one win, and also it was an honor competing against you and all the other people and their entries. Now, onto the build!

The Joust

The shields are David's that he printed on sticker paper stuff and put them on the shields from the chess set. Pretty neat huh?

Some people just don't know how to get along.... :P

Looks like a couple of orcs and elves came to the Tournament.

These tent things were difficult to make, but I think they came out great! The top can even come off too and there is a small seat and a place to hold the some weapons.

My tent and my squire.

The place where the royal people sit has a (roof maybe?) that can come off so you can see inside (and position the minifigs) better.

That's right, I incorporated the Mythron symbol! (Yes, I know its blocky, but it doesn't hurt for trying right?)

The Wall and Towers

The walls (even though I was going for a clean look) looked too bland so I added some vines with colorful berries to give a brighter and normal feel to the dark bley walls. I think it looks cool. Also, the window techniques on/in the walls are from AK_Brickster and a Lego® MBA set.

The towers came out great too! (minus the fact that they are a just bit square for me)

A cool shot.

The Interior

That's right, there's a whole back to this build! It's the interior of one of the King's palaces. Neat huh?

I love how I was able to have these suits of armor in here, they helped add to this part of the build. The armor is from two of the fiercest warriors in the kingdom that the king himself defeated.

Some cool shots...

Yes, the window is in the correct spot, You can see all the way through the walls. (I forgot to take a photo showing that) :P

The throne, I'll show you how I made it.

I'm happy how I used the snakes for the throne. This throne is the best one I ever made (Actually the only one now that I think of it) :P

Here's the back of the towers.

A small alchemist room.

Ooh, a golden statue... (I think I've seen this before....)

Yay! TLG would be so proud of me for having catapults! (Or is it flick missiles that they like? Or is it both? o_O)

Putting the tiles on this build was difficult, considering how many tiles I had to build with. Thankfully, after about (No joking) 30 min. of trying to figure out the best way to do this, I came up with this design.

Full Build

Some cool shots of Avelese (me) and possibly Rego (if Toa Infernum is fine with that, otherwise, just my opponent) :)

Thanks for looking! God Bless!

Quoting Mark Erickson Dude, really great work on this! Initially I was impressed with the excellent figs, then I saw the sweet custom shields! (I'm a sucker for good customs ;) ) Then I saw the tents. I thought to myself. "Well, they're pretty good." Then I saw they had a cool interior! Wow! The walls had great details,(Nice vines!) the falcon wall/crest was cool. One thing did bother me. The main pavilion roof thing didn't make much sense. I wouldn't put heavy-looking stone crenels on a wooden structure. At this point I was debating who would get my vote, you guys both put in some great entries. Then you turned your whole build around to show a grand interior! Really awesome work! Your attention to detailed interiors and your attention to the category gets you my vote! Best of luck! :)
Thanks! I agree with the part about the heavy stone over top of the pavilion.... I couldn't figure out how to do a proper roof, so that is why I went with what I went with.

Fantastic build! So many great details. The crest in the background and the tents. I was overall impressed with the front. THEN you had to turn it around and show off even more impressive details, I enjoyed the throne set up as well. Great job!

Quoting Mark McPeek Another tough decision, but in the end, you get my vote!! I was very impressed with your detailing, setup, and architecture. Toa's landscaping was better, but overall, I feel that your MOC captured the category better. Congratulations on winning the Tourney and thanks for competing!
Thank you!!!!!

Nice build! I think I'm seeing doubles though. Or does Mythron have 2 kings? The throne is brilliant though.

Seeing how much effort my team mates put into this contest kinda made me feel ashamed of the little effort I put into these games. Good luck! ~Zach

The exterior is wonderful, but the interior is simply awesome. Before I saw the interior, I thought Toa had you edged out, but now I am really torn. I doubt I could judge this match. You did a great job here. I am wondering a little bit about the stone roof o the wooden stall for the royalty to watch the joust, but it looks great! Amazing job!

Oooh. Is that Gandalf? :P Superb work here, Andrew! I really love that wooden floor in the throne room! I'll have to try that sometime. The castle is also very well done. I can't see who's is better, though. You've built a fantastic castle, which beats Infy's tower. But his landscapes were done just a tad better than yours. I can't decide. This will defiantly be close!

Good show Andrew, very good show! However I have to say that IMO Infy edged you slightly on the landscape. Best of luck in bring home the gold though. ;)

Nice job, lots of neat details here. I really that throne! The one thing I like about Toa Infernum's build better, is it's shape. Your's is just...square...Still an awesome build, none the less.
