About this creation

2014 MA

I just realized that this is very similar to my most recent LOM build, but meh, whatever.
When I was decided just what the serf would do, my mom said that he should be having a nap. Makes sense; working to keep alive and when he has an off day, he'd relax and get some rest.

Massive thanks to Grant Davis for suggesting a white blanket as the background. It worked marvelously. Now I only need to get a good camera -_- But I reduced the size of this creation and packed some more detail into it. Thanks Halhi for that advice!

Here he is! This is his favorite place to escape. There is shade from the tree and a nice view.

The build:

Rocks! I was happy with them.

Tree! I was happy with it.

Very nice! Whenever I look at your landscape/dioramas/whatever they are called, I feel like I could never do that. Is there any strategy for making a really nice looking landscape or castle or large stationary object?

Please do. Here's something I found out when I revisited it, though - it works best if you put the 1x1 plate/tile on a jumper plate and give it a slight twist to put some tension into the vines. They fell out a lot on the tavern.
Great to hear - thanks Gilbert.

Quoting Alex Rode Gilbert, is it all right if I use your green plant technique as a wall decor on my next creation?

You never seise to amaze me, You've got unlimited talent man! Your creations are impressive. I think that there is more than sweet talk all the way through though, I have spent so much time telling other people how great something is, but I never really gave suggestions to people about how to change or improve something, it's basically like adding salt without the pepper. I really like your rock work but I think that you should mash it up a bit, because some of your latest creations have focused on rock and cliff, that is what comes to my mind. Maybe you are planing something epic for the future and practicing your rock work to show people, and see what they think. I think that it would be cool if you made a cliffy, rugged shore, them put a tower or a castle at the tipsy-top. I think that you should decide though, Hope that your other creations will go well for you, and I hope that you will get the right response that you want from other people. Happy building :D

I'm just gonna echo what the other judges have said, it's a great nature scene but a little more going on would have helped out a lot. Score: 3

Quoting Chris Phipson The rockwork IS solid! To answer your question of Matthew below, I personally judge each individual creation on it's own merits. I also make it a habbit to not know who the builder is until AFTER I have made up my mind as to the score (I touched on this in one of the threads somewhere... ) Anyway, on to your moc. I think having more "stuff" going on would have brought you up a bit. It's a nice nature scene for sure, but having "more" woulda been better. Score of 3. ~ Chris.
I really appreciate that information - thanks Chris!

What Matthew said is sort of true, your builds do seem a bit repetitive. That does not stop them from being good though, and this is no exception. Nice Job!

Quoting Matthew Oh Score = 3. Honestly, your rockwork is what makes it a 3, that is excellent! You have gotten very good with creating rockwork. Everything else could use some work. Also, a little bit of variety would be nice, you always seem to have rockwork/foilage/etc in your creations, and that always seems to be your main focus. Score = 3. I look forward to your next entry!
Thank you; I see what you mean. When you judge, do you take into account the past creations rather than taking each individual creation by itself? I've been thinking of building to my strengths in that the judges will judge each creation strictly individually. I am glad I now know differently! Nevertheless I am happy with a 3 - cheers.
