The BMD-2 is a Soviet airborne infantry fighting vehicle, which was introduced in 1985. It is a variant of BMD-1 with a new turret and some changes done to the hull
About this creation
Description

The BMD Airborne Combat Vehicle was developed to meet the requirements of the Russian Airborne forces (VDV) and was first seen by the West in 1973



Turret is identical to BMP-1 ICV's and has 73mm 2A28 smooth-bore gun fed by an automatic loader with a PKT 7.62mm MG mounted coaxially to the left. Guns power elevate from -4 degrees to +30 degrees, turret traverses through 360 degrees. Mounted on the roof is an AT-3 Sagger wire-guided ATGM and in each corner of the bow is a 7.62mm PKM MG



Vehicle is fully amphibious, propelled by two waterjets mounted at rear and is fitted with smoke-dischargers, engine pre-heater. Hydropneumatic suspension allows height adjustment.

* Suspension each side has five small road wheels, drive sprocket rear, idler front, four return rollers
* Pointed nose with trim vane on glacis plate, hull sides vertical with slight chamfer along two-thirds of hull-side

Nice shaping! I like how you did the boat-shapaed hull, very nice. And as I already said, I use POV-Ray to render my designs.
