2014 MOCAthalon: Pirate's Tavern!
About this creation
My first entry to the 2014 MOCAthalon!

My Team: The SNOT Pickers!

My category:
A Pirates' Haven
If you were a Pirate, where would you like to call home? Build a sanctuary that a pirate could call his own. No size restrictions.

Unto the pictures!

2014 MOCAthalon: Pirate's Tavern!
Note the size, 60x40, which in turn stretched the limits of my lightbox and greatly decreased the quality of my photos. I apoligize for that.

Pirate's Tavern!
How does one know when they reach the safe harbors of the Pirate's Tavern? Just look for the skeleton chained to a rock.

Sailing In!
A ship that has just arrived at the Tavern, and again, I apoligize for the photos.
The build itself left about 4" of space in my lightbox.

Pirate Guards.
The Pirate's Tavern is of course guarded by some outstanding people, including an Average Gnome who took up Piracy after his failure in the Tourney.

Dual!
Some pirates don't get along as well as the others...but in this land there are no rules against murder and theft.

Pirate Tavern.
A few of the whole Pirate's Tavern.

Tavern Entertainment!
Of course ye pirates need first class entertainment, and one of them has volunteered for the job.

Treasure!
And lastly, pirates are nothing with a big old pile of treasure!

Best of luck to the other competitors, my team mates, and the judges!

God Bless! I hope you enjoyed!

Bad photography? That water looks amazing! :P The layering on the sand is superb. Love that boat. The tavern needs some stud covering, of course. But other than that, it's great. Excellent work Brick! Can't wait to see more MA builds from you. ;)

The landscaping and water are nice, though the tavern is rather plain. Score: 3

A terrific build. Land and sea have great details. The boat and skeleton add a nice touch. I like the last picture showing the pirates plunder.

That's a lot of tiles. Fantastic build! Wow, I've been commenting on quite a few creations since I was gone for a few days, and a lot of the MA entries have 3s, 4s, 5s. I'd better get building better!

Very nice work with this! The tavern could use some more detailing, but the beach and water is great! This was going to be a strong 3, but the cleanliness, beach, and water pushed it to a 4. Score = 4. Nice job!

Lovely sandwork/landscaping! The water is also quite nice, as is that skeleton chained to the rock. :P I'm not as big a fan of the tavern, though. I feel it could use more details/texturing and more consistency with studded floors - I see you SNoTed the actual tavern section and that looks good, but the bare studs on the balcony and treasure room don't. The boats pretty nice, though, and I do like the way you made the balcony railing all warped. Great work overall! I'm jealous of your collection. :P

Looks great, Brick! Great layout overall, and your water is very nice. The beach's texturing is fantastic. The darker, wet sand near the water is a nice touch as well. The tavern has a great, weathered look that I really like. Good luck with the judges!

Your landscaping is excellent! You could have done a little more work on the haven section though with a little more SNOT work to pretty it up. But overall a very nice build. Score: 3
