KW Vaubans Awesome Entry

A huge thanks to the judges for letting me submit late! Snow is officially lame!

Even with the extra 2 days I built this in only 6 days. I wish I could do more with this as it was really fun to build.

Nice work! That lever was quite cool. The rest of the build with the snot work and the cheese slopes was very nice too.

Great MOC. I like your dragon's head better, too. If I had have more time - I had to built it in three days - and more red parts - this time I had no time to order - perhaps I had built a bigger one ;). ... and your mosaics, they are fantastic!!

This is amazing. With the time you had and the quality of your opponent, this was a tough decision. In the end I think the judges should have voted for you.

Quoting Justin M Stunning work. I much prefer your entry over KW's.
Thanks! Its too late now though... I guess the judges didn't like the style I went for in this build.

Quoting Blake Baer While I found your entry to be more interesting than KW's, I didn't think it held the quality that I would have liked to have seen. Therefore he gets my vote. Great job though Grant!
Quoting Mark Murphy I am impressed Grant, you guys really put the judges to the test with these entries, however, I am choosing your opponent's entry because it had a lot more detail that I really appreciated. Good luck with the other judges!
Think I could get something a little more specific? Thanks guys!

You and your opponent both put forth excellent entries this round. Thanks for a fantastic semi-final! In the end, you get my vote Grant! While I love KW's "book" base, I find your entry more interesting as a whole. In more detail, I like your representation of the dragon a tad better, and I love those hanging carts! This could still go either way. Good luck with the final judge!

Quoting Disco Chicken How did you get the cheese slopes to stay in there??
Some of them are naturally quite tight but for the ones that aren't, I just push up the tile at the bottom to make it all nice and firm. You have a awesome username btw.

Quoting Gilbert Despathens That's an impressive lever Bilbo is up against. How hard is it to balance the bucket handle?
Not that hard actually. It might take a few tries but it isn't gonna take more than 3 minutes.

Wow! Smaug's head is fantastic! I love all the details everywhere! Though I don't like the scene from the movie too much (not just because it doesn't follow the book, but it also seems a little too much like a video game), you did a good job portraying the scene! Best of luck!

A cool scene; contains some awesome architecture as shown by this MOC. Unfortunately this part deviated greatly from the original book...oh, well, good job with recreating Erebor!

Awesome! Even though I like the book better, it's nice to see someone build something that was solely from the movie. And you did an excellent job of it.

I love the dragon head. The cleanliness of the build and the good photography cast a nice image. A little sparse if I may be so bold, but over all a great build. The furnaces look like nuclear silos :) Best of luck! ~RORY~
