Hi all! It's been a while since my last post!!! : ) But, however if I didn't mention it, and didn't post WIPs, or stuff like this... I WAS actually MOCing! So now, c'mon, raise your hands the ones of you who think otherwise! : p Don't worry, It's my fault some way; yeah, i mean: no WIPs, not so much comments on your (new)pages... But, well, I was busy with my own buiseness! :D And here is one of these projects that I was secretly building up! ; ). For years now, I've always wanted a true Lego Hot rod set ( a worthy of the name one) and why not, build in agreement with a "Big" known scaled models (Such as Revell, Monogram, AMT, ect...). Unfortunatly it never happen! So I decided to make my own!!! A Big Lego set with lot of commutable pieces to make your Rod, the way you want it!!! AND, unlike scaled models, buildable and customizable at will and to infinity! No need to scour, sand down, use primmer and re-spray again if you wanna do any (body) modifications!!! That's power of Lego!!! (scaled models builders will understand me! ; ) ) So Enjoy the pics, and please: keep rating an comment!!! ; )
About this creation

The "Black Baron" Rat Rod pick-up! (My favorite one of the box! <3) Almost "roll off the production line", but not fendered (as all the rods of the set, 'cause I haven't the pieces to do some, and i'm not sure I could fix them on the car...) Top Chopped and Channeled, but still have his 4in line Ford engine (upgraded with two carburators anyway... :D ), original front grill and original spoked wheels (re-painted in black, nevertheless! : p )

The "Symptomatic", 'cause it's almost the Rod anyone knows... (well not exactly, the "most famous" still is the deuce roadster flat black with flame job and powered by a V8, so iconic, but I'm close... This is a 29 Coupe 3windows, black with flames, a big V8 and a 32' Front grill! ; ) )

The "Racer" or "Salt Flat", typical too! 29 roadster body with 33' front grill, red stock wheels, 32 numbers on sides, and a big V8 with 3 carburators!!! POWAAAAAAA! : p

These 3 Rods are made to be representative, the most, of Rod/Kustom Kulture... But You can do yours as you want!!! There's (almost) no limites! : p

Choose your V8's carburator(s)! (or don't add any and cover the engine with the original hood (without sides panel for the V8 tough... It's small in there... : p ) or upgrade the original 4 in line Ford's engine with two carburators (only one possible modification on this engine... in Lego. ; ) ) and/or cover it with the top of hood, or full (openable!) hood!!! : )

Choose your favorite rear end!

3 Possibilities for Top height: _Original, _3' chopped, and _6'chopped

Choose your rims! stock, wired/spoked original Ford, or customized (enlarged to fit bigger tires) Ford T wooden rims

Stickers (You can make your own too!!! : ) )

Interior: possibility to change the steering wheel, seat color (Brown or red for now, but if I buy some pieces: it could be blue, black, or white too! ; ) ) and soft top cover* (Black, brown, and red for now too...)
*when your Rod is roadster

A picture I made: How could look my fictionnal Lego and Revell/Monogram accorded set... ; )

Hope you like this, and please Rate and Comment!

PS: be aware! Some other MOCs will come soon, too! ; )

Your Hot Rod set is really outstanding. They really have the right look, even though the scale is quite small.

Quoting Blaine R. Great work. I see the real thing at car shows all the time and you really captured all the details in really small builds. Where did the wheels and tires come from? I haven't seen those before.
It's full Lego: Tires are old/vintage Lego sleek ones, and rims are old Lego pieces too! ; ) some links: tires http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=132-teeth and wheels http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=30155 the red wheels are simply these ones http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=6248 mounted reverse tha usual... ; )

Quoting sam the first I. WANT. THEM. ;D MAy I suggest Lego CUUSOO? This would be ace for a lego city set, or a street racer set!
No way, I've already think about it, and I'm sure Lego will never produce it! (too many illegal builds and some parts, such as minifig's hands, can't be selled without other parts - arms and torso for the hands, as exemple - ,that's it.)
Quoting Dr. Monster and Elk Guard
Thanks guys! ; )
