Spacecraft Tournament Round 1: UNSC Wasp class "E" multipurpose fighter
the 1st in my Sci-Fi Spacey Things etc. the Wasp Fighter
About this creation

The Picture above taken on 25 April, 2015... so yeah i still got it around

presenting the first in my Sci-Fi spacey things etc. , the multipurpose Wasp Fighter "E"

Background:

the year is 2587, and the human race is all but extinguished,
after the fall of earth in 2096 to the extraterrestrial race known only as the Counselet,
earths little colony on mars was the only patch of humans left in the cosmos.

this turned the colony instantly from a research facility, to a small military outpost,
close to earth. knowing that they would need a multipurpose fight, the development of this fight took close to 3 decades, it is multipurpose because it is a Jack-of-all-trades fighter, it is effective at space combat, high atmosphere, and low atmosphere engagements.
hitting the the market in 2130, it was the perfect vehicle that the humans needed, and has proved to be such, that it has only gone through 5 upgrades in the nearly 400 years of service, and there are no plans to retire it within the millennium...

Features:

-dual high intensity plasma cannons in the nose of the craft
-adjustable forward wings to help with stable flight in an atmopsphere
-"jet nozzles" on bottom of forward wings, and rear engines help stable flight in
space to be maintained
-secondary jet engines in the rear provide a speed of mach 2.3 in martian atmosphere,
speeds in other atmospheres will vary
-dual Ion Drives surround the wormhole generator for 93,467 MPS (Miles Per Second) space flight, roughly 50% of the speed of light
-wormhole generator provides instant access to any part of the known universe
-state of the art life support only needs to be refilled, and filtered once in an earth year
-reverse polarized aluminum absorbs enemy electropulse cannons that they use in space combat, rendering their only option to missiles, or ramming
-small nimble, yet strong frame allows for it to be adjusted to match any mission
-Ion Drives, and Worm Hole Generator are nuclear powered, needing refueling once every earth decade

5th fighter squadron
- these fighters are colored in the markings of the 5th UNSC Fighter Squadron

UNSC- United Nations Space Commonwealth, is based on the moon of Titan, and serves as the capital of the human race, not the same as in Halo...

[4th wall] i own one of these fighters in real lego, but as i do not own a camera,
i had to rebuild it in LDD to show it to you guys.

this is just the first of many things to come, stay tuned!

*MEGA UPDATE*
thanks you guys, this creation actually made the home page, i love you guys to!

*UPDATE* ive decided to join the 2015 Spacecraft Tournament, and in doing so, being that this fighter has been in service for over 5 Lego Centuries, and still is, i thought it fitting to make it my entry, Old Reliable, as her pilot calls her, is here for the prize!

and as far as a link to the page, here (if all went well, then this is my first HTML page link ever...)

Cool ship...it does look very nimble. Still going after five centuries you say...they sure don't make 'em like they used to! Total classic.

Quoting Alex Sonny I kinda missed this one, nice work, the design is very sleek and I like your choice of cockpit piece - keeping it edgy!
thanks alex, it was kinda difficult to reproduce in LDD from actual Legos considering i didnt know exactly if LDD had my pieces or not

Quoting Gabor Pauler How to replace nasty LDD backgrounds: LDD saves screenshots in *.PNG format with transparent background (if you are in editor mode, not at the built-in scenes). Then in any photoshop software capable of handling multiple layers, you can copy PNG image above another background picture, group the layers and save tham as one JPG image. See my stuff for samples.
ill have to try that at some point, thanks

Quoting Gabor Pauler Very stylish sporty little spacecraft, congratulations. It somehow resempbles me the space-age equivalent of German Me-162 jet. It will look way better if you use bigger picture layout in your page. Also, LDD backgrounds are pretty nasty, it is better to replace them with sci-fi scenes.
bigger layout, as in make the pictures bigger, or change the actual layout itself?, and how do i replace LDD backgrounds? EDIT: fixed the size, thanks!
