GreenMeadow Keep
About this creation
AuckLUG was asked to exhibit some Lego at BattleCry 2014, the annual Auckland wargaming convention, so I built this in a few weeks and some other guys brought their StarWars and LOTR displays.

BattleCry was... interesting. Let's just say this; if you're ever feeling like a social reject or total nerd for being a teen or adult who still plays ("plays" :P) with Lego, just go to a war-gaming convention and you'll feel a whole lot better about the non-nerdiness of your hobby! :)

I don't really have much to say on the MOC side of things. Not very much planning went into this, though it is pretty big. I just came up with the basic idea for a medieval layout and then followed my nose through the building process. And yeah, bad name is bad :P

Nice work! I like how well balanced the entire MOC is. The castle fits well with the land and I think that using the more "classy" stile of castle building is both beautiful and refreshing.

As the hobbits are divided in three parties, this scenary is most welldone, for the hobbits by the big stream. I simply like the nice landscape, and some special ankles. Awesome work!

Quoting Rory Simpson I really like the vibrant colors in this build! The castle is a bit blahh, (no offense), but the landscape is exceptional. I feel the waterfall could be more fluid and textured looking, and the castle walls maybe have 2 by 1 grey tiles and plates to add texture, but overall, the landscape makes it an incredible build. Keep up the good work! ~RORY~
Thanks for the constructive advice man! :)

Quoting Matthew Robinson Another good job, on a note side better than some of my landscaping maybe I should get you to do some work for me later on ;-). Hope to see it soon at the club show this year. Also before I jumped back into lego I was one of those guys at battle cry playing Warhammer 40k for many years (20years). I have a draw full of battle cry t-shirts :-p. I was going to try and make it to come see you guys and some old warhammer frends. I have a tone of really nice 40k stuff if you ever want to see it or look at my blog http://lazarusproductions.blogspot.co.nz/
Sure! :P Nah, this one got destroyed a couple of days after BattleCry, I'll build something better for the show. Cool stuff!

Looks really good. A nice layout. The castle turned out well and the scenery around it places it nicely in that medieval environment. Nice work on the waterfall, particularly the spray at the bottom. Really nice work.

Quoting Anthony Wilson Wow man, this is incredibly impressive! I like how the castle looks very tall from some shots, and although this is your biggest yet you still have all the techniques that make you great. You`ve set the bar I`m trying to strive for. Thanks for the invitation to the Auckland lego show, I have something particularly special I`m coming up with for that.
Thanks so much man! Awesome, I cannot wait to see what you whip up :)
