The Cierva VG.x opens up a new doorway in Iberian aviation. With the development of Variable-Geometry wings, planes are able to fly ever faster. Although weaponless, the prototype has been cleared and development of an armed version will soon begin.

I built a Sepecat Jaguar and I need you to render some pictures of it for me. I'll send you files with the landing gear up and down to make your life easier. Also, as far as angles go, try to make them similar to the angles of the pictures on my SU-24 page.

Quoting Tyro Cook Hey Colin, I'm trying to get some of my aircraft rendered on POV ray, and Matthew McCall is already working on one for me. I was wondering if you could give me a hand.
Sure! My email is on my page. What do you need?

I do like the shape, especially with the wings swept backward!

Quoting Alex Sonny I love the cockpit! This must have taken ages to render, with all the transparent bricks ;)
Thanks! It didn't take too long, I have a pretty powerful computer. But I thought the cockpit came out great too!

Quoting Matthew McCall The X-5 had serious issues with mid flight stability, so while it was a decent test bed for the technology it was deemed unfit for official use.
But it's not the X-5. Your flying wing obviously isn't the YB-49, it's a better version. This is a better version of the X-5, and while it's not in service (it's an experimental aircraft), it's a much better prototype showing the ability of variable-geometry aircraft. Some of the X-5's stability problems resulted in the placement of the tail, and while the VG.x and the X-5 look similar, they are different aircraft.

Quoting Matthew McCall The cockpit is indeed nice, but the aircraft overall is way too small. Just to let you know, while swing wings were around in the 50's, as far as I know historically there were no successful aircraft with them.
To my knowledge, the X-5 was fairly successful and was a good proof of concept aircraft. The armed version will take several years to complete. Think of this as the X-5 and the armed version the F-111, which will come out in its time.
