Episode 9: Battle at the Bridge
Hello everyone! This is a freebuild, with the help of Owlsafa Jones. If you're wondering why he's still helping, it's because we're doing the whole story together. He looks over the story with me when he can and gives suggestions and such. In the end, it makes it easier for both of us. :D

Thorond approached an ancient bridge, which crossed a great ravine.

He looked around him as he crossed the bridge. All was very quiet... too quiet.

His mind wandered to the conversation he had had with his friend Crow at the tavern in the city of Elpis, before he met Ashkenaz.

“Crow you scoundrel!” Thorond had said, rather annoyed, “I came here to ask you for information. You know the mountains better than most! Crow... friend of friends. Help me! I know nothing of the mountains ahead! Ashkenaz’s hidden fortress was destroyed no doubt. But killing him is no small feat. He’s out there! I need to find it before him!”
Crow sat and thought for some time, “I have never seen this place you speak of. I cannot help you in that. But... I do know of it. The entrance is but 20 miles southeast of this city. Go south until you reach the mountains. And then turn east for 5 miles. The entrance was built into the mountain side. You will not miss it.”
“Thank you my friend!” Thorond exclaimed.
“But beware, my friend!” Crow exclaimed, “The mountain passes are full of danger! You must be on your guard at all times!”

Thorond’s thoughts came back to the present. He sensed something. Some evil that approached. He readied his axe.

Suddenly, a great orc jumped out of nowhere. It was Olarg, one of his many enemies.

Olarg landed and with a laugh, charged Thorond.

Olarg brought his scimitars down on Thorond. Thorond quickly parried the blow with his axe.

But nothing could stop Olarg. Their weapons clashed again and again. He was a swift, agile orc, who could disarm any of his foes with a single strike.

So it proved to Thorond. Olarg sent Thorond’s weapon flying, knocking Thorond off balance.

Olarg cackled and got ready for a killing strike.

Thorond barely rolled aside in time as Olarg brought his weapons down.

Thorond quickly grabbed his axe and parried the next blow Olarg gave him. The two struggled for some time, Olarg trying to shove Thorond to the ground, and Thorond trying to push Olarg away.

Thorond pushed away the orc's scimitars and swung his battle axe at Olarg, knocking him off balance. Thorond had moved so swiftly that Olarg was caught off guard.

With a roar Thorond struck Olarg’s scimitars, shoving them downward.

Then, with a mighty swing, severed Olarg’s head. The body fell to the ground, never to rise again.

Thorond stood there a moment, looking at the body and breathing hard.

He grabbed Olarg’s remains and threw them over the side of the cliff, where they would lay there for centuries.

Thorond then picked up the scimitar Olarg had dropped, studying it.

After looking at it for some time, tossed it over the edge.

Olarg, Creature of the Underworld, was dead and his reign of terror in the mountains was over.

Extra pictures:

This tavern was actually part of of Episode's 8 build. It was the big building on the right. Now, Crow was actually one of my older brother's characters he made. Though you can't see it in the picture, Crow carries a crowbar, hence his name.

This is my favorite LoM creation of mine. I tried to SNOT as much as possible. Rocks are my favorite thing to build! :P

Well, the picture DID look better before. I thought it did. :(

Rocks, rocks, rocks, and more rocks! :P

Thanks for looking! Please rate and comment! If there's anything you can point out that I need to work on, tell me! :D

Soli Deo Gloria!

Quoting Alex Rode Wow, yet another absolutely stellar build from you! The rocks are fantastic, as are the other features. Well done Professor!
Thanks! As you might be well aware, rocks are my favorite thing to build. I normally try to stick some in each MOC. :P

Quoting Gilbert Despathens The bridge scene looks excellent. The tavern isn't at the same level, though. Since you only needed the interior, maybe you could have reversed the roof so the studded side faced down. Another stone wall turned on its side (if you had the parts for another) could have given you a nice, even floor.
Yes, good point. I hadn't really liked the interior. I never really thought about doing that, though. Thanks for pointing that out! :D

Nice rockwork! The layout of this build, as well, is quite cool.
