15-Piece Vehicle Challenge: Alternate Builds #3 -- Ships
Alternate builds for the 15-piece Vehicle Challenge.
About this creation
My official entry for Sam the First's 15-piece Vehicle Challenge is a micro telehandler, but creating the 15-piece vehicles has proven to be a fun and challenging proces, so I am continuing to create new builds. This post actually my third batch of alternate bulds (follow these links to see my first and second alternate sets). This batch is focused on ships, and it includes:

  • A container ship (empty).
  • An LNG tanker.
  • An aircraft carrier (OK, this one took 30 parts to create, but I wanted to see how few parts it would take to do a reasonable job, and 15 just wasn't enough).

Thanks to everyone who commented! I was hoping to include a supertanker here as well, but it probably would have to have been 3-wide to get in all the details I wanted, and that would mean using more than 15 parts.

Quoting charlie fedler Loving these so far. If I may ask, could you give instructions on how to build the carrier, and maybe the destroyer from earlier? Please? It would be appreciated.
Thanks. I have now included an LDD file for all of the ships, including the destroyer from my other set. You're welcome to it.

Wow! That is seriously micro scale. Probably the next step down would be a single 2x4 tile ;-)

Goodness! You're on a roll! Speaking as a carrier builder, that is one snazzy looking ship :-D It looks quite nice for 30 pieces, if I do say so myself :-)
