Colonising worlds isn't exactly an easy task in itself and is usually made even harder by the indigenous inhabitants hindering progress.
In response to this issue, the Crusaders developed the Fauna Repellent device which emits waves of energy invisible to the naked eye but designed to deter wildlife by causing a quick disruption of the creatures' neuro-paths resulting in a quick but sharp sensation of pain to deter it away from the Repeller.
It's been very successful in the field for years as civilian tech and to generally keep away creatures that may hinder the Crusaders' work such as construction sites, but it has a more lethal, militarised purpose.
The true military use of this technology is that these can be ejected almost like escape pods from dropships at which they automatically secure themselves upon hitting the surface. The Crusaders can then disable the standard dampener that comes in all Repellers remotely and with the dampener disabled, the energy waves restriction is lifted, causing excruciating pain to an almost paralyzing state which leads to eventual death. From the moment of activation, it only takes mere moments for those in the immediate area to die. A quick and easy way to clear out an area of sentient life.
Branching out from vehicles and larger accessories to my Crusaders line, I've gone for some field tech here that's smaller but still serves a purpose.
This branched out from playing the AVATAR game where as the RDA, you can activate these repellents which usually keep away Viperwolves from the bases.
