My seventeen Chicago skyscraper models are on display for the month of February in Prudential Plaza, Chicago!
About this creation
Feel free to stop by Prudential Plaza some time this month to see my seventeen Chicago skyscraper models, consisting of nearly 70,000 individual pieces. This display has been seven months in the works and was very professionally executed and arranged by tenant Jones Lang LaSalle.
Here is Prudential Plaza, located at 180 N.Stetson Avenue, right next to the Aon Center on the edge of Millennium Park.
Walking through the plaza, conveniently covered in some of the sixty inches of snow we've had so far this winter! Two of my good friends from IIT accompanied me to take pictures. We were also doing site investigations of nearby buildings for a paper in architectural history and we may or may not have "snuck" up to the top floor of the Carbide & Carbon Building :P
You can actually see the display from outside. It was quite the blustery day in the Windy City when I took this!
There it is! On the second floor of the lobby.
Quick right after you enter; time to go up the escalator...
Try not to trip getting off the escalator as you're confronted by half the Chicago skyline! Half is a stretch... maybe an eighth :)
Side profile. I must admit I'm very satisfied with the staggered arrangement of the models. This idea was my host's, however, so I can't take credit.
Here is Prudential Plaza INSIDE Prudential Plaza! Yes it's possible at 1:650 scale.
Here's a separate image of my self-composed bio/info spread. Definitely worth a read if you've got a second!
