GAIA spies have managed to plant cameras in a Dragonne hangar bay, let's tune in and see what tactical information we can glean...
A bizarre new type of ship, the Cancercornus Squidoctopus fighter is being refuelled. Let's turn on the mic and listen to what's going on.
"Chug chug chug chug chug!"
Hmm... That hose isn't much of a conversationalist I guess.
Here's a mechanic chatting with his supervisor, this should be good.
Mechanic: "Hey boss, how 'bout we form a MocAthalon team and show MOCpages that Dragonnebricks is where all the real builders are? I already have three TFOLs: Dregonne_boy!1!1!!, ClonecommandarSplorch, and bill None-ya-business."
Supervisor: "I would sooner team up with Parrington Levens and the GAIA army... Look at this place, all you build are greebles!"
Oh, now that was one toxic riposte. Forget this fuel-line, they should get just the supervisor to gas up their ships with his rhetoric.
Looks like the magfield's powering up folks, we'd better get this drone out before the fighter takes off! Tune in next week for episode 7 of Living with Dragonne.
So, black really is as hard to photograph as they say... Naturally I complicated it by using bare speedlights which give really harsh reflections, and rather than using my softbox I used my empty basement, nuked the ambient, and used the darkness as the background. Anyways, this was built for Parrington Levens' GAIA Contest 1.0. Thanks to the Parrington, Marc, and El Barto for their time, and for creating an excellent contest which was great fun to build for. Haven't had much time to build lately, but this was a perfect excuse.
Good to see that you tackled the Dragonne part! (Hey we have one GAIA, one hybrid and one Dragonne entry!) Nice take on the Dragonne, dungeon-like style - just as I imagine it myself. You get 43 points! ~Marc
First off, awesome hangar. Second, great pics. Black is relentlessly painful to snap a descent shot. And third, Gaia doesn't stand a chance with a ship named that. By the time they get it out, they'll be swarmed over. Genius!
