So now, we re at the 3 rd segment of the challenge,
Oddie and Kirk are still in the desert fighting between themselves, now,
as the letter s location is drawing near.
The fight is tough, neither courier seems to have a clear upper hand in the contest,
Although Kirk is advantaged being to the left,
he sometimes get contact with the pick axe,
While we follow this event by satellite, we can spot the trajectory the challengers
might follow, it s a sure thing that they must be getting thirsty after exerting
themselves like this, so they must be heading for refreshments nearby...
Just as we have figured, they re heading back to the road!
There is indeed a small rest area with a well, and an energy drink distributing machine
but, a surprise awaits them, the scorpion gang is currently raiding the place...
Looks like they spotted the danger, as, they lowered down their weapons...
Heading in there full throttle certainly got the gang s attention,
especially as Oddie is trashing one of their bikes!
Oddie makes sure the owner of the bike does nt complain...
while Kirk gives a good taste of the pick axe!
ramming one of the gang with his bike does nt hurt to even the odds...
Oppie goes for the well s bucket right away...
While Kirk fends off with the rest of the gang...
Uh ho, looks like Kirk is in trouble!
his helmet won t resist long against that shovel!
and the leader s helmet seems to be linked with his bike s gun,
he just waits for a clear shot!
Looks like he ll never have it!
Oddie is not waiting on anybody to get to the letter s location!
Oddie made sure to leave Kirk occupied but...
the owner of the business did nt appreciate the gang s advances to his girlfriend,
and the disturbance...
Kirk gets a quick boost refreshment before leaving...
The owner finishes off the leader, just as the police arrives,
Kirk does nt even have time to pick a weapon!
Naturally, fleeing the scene of the crime made the police more interested in Kirk s
version of the events than the owner s...
A little chit-chat with them was about the last thing on Kirk s mind
on things to do today...
Motocross bikes are designed to jump in narrow spaces...
Cruisers are nt...
Things might have been easier if both cars collided, but, a courier s job is not easy.
Things got even more nastier, as the GF agents joined the party!
If you ve ever heard about 'suicidal doors', well, those are homicidal ones...
The agents don t like to involve small town s sheriffs in their affairs,
much less answering to them...
For Oddie now, everything seemed to be for the best, and could enjoy the scenery
a little, the Drakolith s territory s limits we re drawing near.
Unfortunately for him, the resistance-5 we re determined to get the location of
the letter while he was on their vincinity.
He barely escaped their nets, but his bike was mingled in them, it would take lots
of efforts to escape this vicious trap now!
Kirk did nt fare much better trying to disarm the GF agents, while enduring the cries
of a colonist caught in the chase!
He finally had his break when the R-5 shot the GF s tires, and sent them crashing
in the road guards.
Decimating the GF was clearly their priority!
While Oppie s was to open the gate asap!
This was Kirk s opportunity to finally get out of this hell s corner!
Oppie succeeded in clearing his bike, he lost his weapon in the process, but,
escaped without much bruises...
Now, they re on their way to the northern forest.
Looks like they re heading for that old fort!
Kirk opens the gate with his bike,
They re heading up the stairs...
Kirk looks inside a barrel...
hu ho, seems like it s finder s keepers!
it has the letter and a gun!
But, he s being real professional about it, by letting Oddie live,
to make sure the letter reaches it s destination, even if he dies,
the contractor will surely appreciate that!
CREATOR S LOG;
follow the rest of the challenge on Allan s page!
to check the challenge s debut, check my Alta-5 folder!
my next post should be Cybercity tales of Alta-5 #2.
as always, comments and critics appreciated,
I ll return comments on your page,
see you now, bye bye then! xd.
Hi Frank! Ok, so i just need to make a race-section, action included? :-) I'll try and remember to take some photos of my bike collection when i set up the race, but it might take a while to set up something proper. In the mean time, i have a little treat ready for you hopefully soon, i'll post details in the group later this week :-) Your vans turned out cool, the rear and side doors on both vehicles are better than on the ones i built. I like the short van best though, it looks a lot like the real secret service vans :-)
Quoting Scott Bertaut
thanks Scott! death race was what I went for,
I ll adjust the vending machine, you re right, it s a little too high, I praise your honesty and appreciate it a lot, if I wanted only compliments, I d ask my mother, xd.
Great job on the sets, no wonder it took so long to put this one out! I like the vending machine, although it is a little big (says the guy who makes 8 wide cars and calls them Minifig scale). It reminds me a bit of the movie Death Race but with motorbikes. Nice work!
Cyberfrank! This is a rolling narrative of ep8ic proportions! I love the gate house on the highway, the exploding cop car, and the bike chase in the castle. Better than a made for cable TV show! As always, you use color and light perfectly in your photos. Attack!
Quoting LegoJediMaster .
thanks LJM! that s about the best compliment you can ever give me, as, it s exactly what I went for, you should check the whole story from the start, you won t be disappointed!
Quoting Sven Jagdmann
thanks Sven! I have slightly modified the police cars, longer hoods, smaller interiors, I have 3 types of police cars now, to fit different cities on Alta-5, I did the same to the car transport s cars, as for the transporter itself, I completely changed the design, to fit my red one.
Quoting Builder Allan
thanks Allan! after your part [#4] I ll finish the challenge [#5], to open another challenge, and include more players, exposing your bike collection in your 'work page' will help choosing and designing the next contestants, I loved your black vans, and finally acquired the black parts I needed to make my own,
Impressive builds, and all sorts of mayhem to enjoy! One thing I thought about while looking through the pics again: The sandy wall that starts around #16, did you think about a forced perspective? Make the trees taller at the lower levels, then shorter as they get higher? It might have created a vast desert background. Just a thought. Anyway, awesome episode, Frank!
This is cool Frank! Lots of action and some dirty tricks among the racers. The service station is nice, it makes me want to go out and get my own 'jabba's palace' :-D Very cool to see those new agent-vehicles too, one of them is very similar to a van with opening side door i made for my own agents. Oh, i think i might also be able to produce a lone 'gang member' for my part, i have those black/gold bikes too. I'll see what i can cook up, but it might take me a while to make something proper - sarcasm included :-) @ Nick White: Yes, please do join! It's lots of fun and we need more contestants to up the pace of the race :-)
