I've had this triple thruster exploration submarine for a while now,
I waited with posting it because I thought I could still improve it.
I did improve it several times but I think I can't do much more improvement on it now.
In the last version I added arms and additional thrusters for blowing over the seabottom (to expose hidden treasure).
Frankly I like it better without all those attachments.
Anyway, I hope you like it.
For this design I heavely relied on the porthole panels (originally from the 1997 Divers theme, it also introduced the manta ray and saw fish).
It took multiple versions to get the tail right, while the cockpit is quite bulky the tail gives it some ind of sleekness,
it reminds me a bit of a tadpole
It looks great next to my other submarine, the Mantis
You know what's missing in this picture? some red!
Better make a red submarine soon ;)
oh man, it rocks around the clock until you bop moc! it s superb! I had the same kind of concept in mind, with those panels with a round windows, those parts are great, I wonder why lego has nt released more kits with them, they re jewels, and the main reason I bought aquanaut kits, but, you used them very proficiently on this sub, it s awesome!!!
Awesome! Very nice details, like those rear engines. And i agree, the attachments does give it a nicer look. The shape of the main body and the small windows reminds me of those extreme-depth exploration subs :-)
I've been looking forward to this ever since I saw it on your homepage and flickr! This is really astounding, I really like the realistic looks of the interior, cramped and no large windows... You are an inspiration, because of you I made my new Aquazone MOC and I'll be making more, too! This is truly incredible.
