I decided to go a different route--instead of building the actual scene where Pippin said it, I decided to actually add a little more creative thinking. I finally decided to build a scene from the extended edition of The Two Towers. I built the scene "Ent Draught"! I've always wanted to do this scene, and since my category involved Treebeard, I decided to do it!
In this scene, Merry and Pippin fight over the "Ent Draught" water because it has a magical power to nourish you and make you grow! And when they are fighting, they run over a tree, and the tree grasps them with it's roots and sucks them in! But don't fear, because Treebeard comes back and saves them before they are made into fertilizer!
And, if you pull out the little knob, you bring out a section of the base that makes Merry and Pippin fall!
For me, this round honestly came down to composition. While your build may have superior construction techniques and style, Andrew's build leads the eye in an easier manner and creates a clear focal point. My vote goes to him.
While Treebeard is fantasic, I think that Old Man Willow could have been done better. If it was a lot thicker and had some more roots it would look much more like him. But it's still a fantastic entry! I love the little function with Merry and Pippin! Good luck!
