About this creation
My character intro for The Insurgency.

Name: Halston
Home planet: Earth
Faction: Galactic Imperium

The sound of Aurelian soldiers whispering to each other greets me as I enter the room.

Somehow they must have gotten around the powerful security system of the ship. Oh well, no matter. I've been wanting to use my disc launchers for a while anyway. Might as well try them out now.

As I prepare to attack, I realize that there's no way that a group of soldiers would be sent out to attack me specifically, even if they could find out where I was.
Unless my Aurelian parents had sent them in an attempt to kill me.

* * *

Here's my character, Halston. Like Halbert, I wanted to give him some interesting family background so I have more possibilities for his story.

Thanks for viewing!

Quoting Halhi 141 Eh, maybe eventually, but I'm kinda busy right now...as you know.
Indeed. Well, there's always that option. :P

Quoting Halhi 141 Eh, probably not, I much prefer Medieval building.
That may be, but you haven't done sci-fi in a while; you may enjoy it. :P Besides, "I build in a variety of themes, but my favorites are Castle and sci-fi, the two polar opposites." Gotta live up to your userpage!

Quoting Kai Bernstein When next there's a lull in your LOM building, will Halston's story continue? The Insurgency will be rolling again, hopefully by tonight, but we need more people participating!

Cool! You've definitely got some awesome parts usage! Surfboards? Genius!

Everyone's talking about the overgreebling...I don't think it's overgreebled at all. it looks perfect. I've seen greebles much more intense than this and nobody complained about those... EDIT: Okay, never mind. That's just Stephen. :P

Quoting Caleb R. Nice gun idea! I like that he's partially brick built. I also like that you left room for mystery in your character, by giving enough information to make us curious, but not enough to make it boring :)
Thanks Caleb, the gun was another piece that I rarely use that I just had to try out. I'm probably going to be doing a lot of that in the future - for instance in my tourney entry I'm planning on making some rockwork made mainly from Bionicle pieces...

Thanks. I guess the excess of greebles probably helps

Quoting Gilbert Despathens I quite like two of the three figures, and the wall detailing is great. Now, which of the three figures did I not quite like? Well, the trike guy is great - with his face and his wheels, he looks like a deformed-and-crippled mad scientist (I thought he was your character until I reached the end of the story - I somehow switched "Aurelian" with "GI"). The robot at his side is a worthy minifigure, too, which leaves... Halston. Sorry, but the legs make him look like he's trying to sit on air, even if the pulley pieces deserve an NPU. Overall, though, this is one of the best Insurgency intros I've seen.
Yeah, I see what you mean. I think the pictures exaggerate it a bit though, it doesn't look so extreme in real life. Overall I actually like that design though, I think it makes him different from the typical character (as if the fact that aside from the head, he's completely composed of artificial body parts didn't do that already) and the stance gives him a bit more character. Thanks for the feedback though.

Quoting Jacob Pennington I really like how original your character is! And the build is great! :)
Thanks Jacob! The design actually arose from a lack of sci-fi torsos; I guess sometimes great designs can result from a lack of pieces!

Quoting David FNJ All sorts of neat features here! It's only shown in one picture, but I like the use of the 2x4 piece that spins around if connected to the right piece on the boarder. Nice!
Thanks David! Yeah, I liked the border too (it's made out of those alternating with the 2x2 top of a 1x2 hinge brick) - sadly I couldn't get a good picture of the whole build :/
