TTR2: Jacob Pennington vs. Lindel Baskin
My entry to the 2014 Tourney Round 2 against Lindel Baskin.
About this creation
My opponent is Lindel Baskin

Bracket: Foot Combat

Category:
-Beasts
Not all enemies are the two legged kind. Many different types of beasts roam the land, some no one even knows about. Build some sort of a beast, and have a MOC of your character battling it.
NOTE: This doesn't have to be a real kind of beast, made-up ones are allowed, too. Also, although the beast being made out of minifigure part is allowed, brick-built ones are strongly suggested.

Guild: Crimson Knights

Deep within the most rotten place to found in all of Mythron, I trudged along through rocky and lifeless terrain. I soon came to a smelly place with pools of hot tar bubbling over the sides. It was the next round in the tournament, and my opponent was not made clear to me until I approached him in his nest of human bones and defeated foes. I was barely in front of him, and his stench was overwhelming.

I stood face to face with the beast, his stench rolling out in hot heaves of breathe. It smelled of decay and death. When it spoke, his rumbling and deep voice shook the ground.

Dragon: Welcome challenger. Are you anxious to have your bones added to my collection?

Me: My bones will stay where they are, dragon. It is your bones that will begin to rot this day.

Dragon: Oh really? I have been defeated by none. No Mythronian, Rainosian, or Outlaw has ever lay a blade upon me. And I don't intend to let it happen now.

Dragon: You will soon join the foolishly dressed fellow who attempted to slay me a few days ago. He told me his speedo had magical defense powers. BUT NONE CAN WITHSTAND DRAGON FIRE!!! AND WILL SOON LEARN THAT!!!

Me: I see... Perhaps it is time to put your strength to the test, foul beast.

Dragon: Very well! RAHARRRRR!!!

Suddenly, the dragon released a huge blast of scorching flames from its mouth. I lifted my shield and attempted to block it. My shield quickly became too hot to bear. I tossed it off quickly before it could burn my skin.

And before I knew it, the dragon had leaped forward knocked me on my back with his large scaly head. I landed with an "oomph!" and before I could stop him, the dragon was atop me, hot breath stinging my face.

Dragon: You were no match for me, human Outlaw. Die now! It is your fate!!!

Then, the dragon reared back, hot fire forming in the back of his throat, ready to expel it upon me. But before he could, I leaped up, and thrust my sword into the back of his throat, halting the flames. The dragon gave a half yelp, half cough.

Me: Fate is an odd thing isn't it?

The dragon looked at me with surprise and hate, until the life left them, and he stumbled over sideways, dead. Happy with my performance, I cut the foremost fang out of his mouth, and held it high.

Me: I'll take this back to Carthal as confirmation of my victory! Crimson Knights Forever!!!

And now, extra shots of the beast!

The dragon has fully maneuverable wings, opening and closing mouth, adjustable legs and feet, adjustable tail, and even a small clip piece in the mouth on the tongue to connect fire to.

Me: What? You mean you want to join the Crimson Knights? I knew you'd come around! Now, lets head on over to the Gnome camp and say hello...

Creator's Comments:

And that's all folks! I can honestly say making this dragon was a pain in the butt. At first, I planned on using not lego fabric to help make the wings, but I decided to just go with the "skeletal" wing look instead to avoid point deduction. Making the head and neck took studying multiple techniques to get the look I wanted. And don't even get me started on the body section. But, even though ti was a pain, it was fun. I want to wish Lindel good luck and thanks everyone for looking. And please remember to rate and comment!

I don't really mind the dragon's stubby body, but the tail could use some work. In the end, I think being able to instantly recognize your dragon earned you my vote. Congratulations!

Quoting David FNJ I thought that your beast was a bit weaker in terms of making sense, but your presentation of the build as well as the cohesiveness of your landscaping won you my vote! This was one of the harder ones to judge. Good luck with the other judges.
Thanks David! :D

Looks great, Jacob! I love the texture of the terrain, and the dragon design is fantastic. I wonder who the impostor is, though. Authentic Average Gnome speedos never fail. =P Great build, and good luck with the judges!

Quoting cyberfrank 2010 I guess time restrain had it s toll on the dragon, parts of him where well done, like the head and claws, it needed more time and parts investment, but, the action was great, maybe a background would have completed the scene better, it would have added a little more atmosphere, and get our attention off the dragon s shortcomings, maybe even added some tools for the character to fight the dragon, like a shed, or a small cliff to gain height in the battle, you re a great builder, it s sometimes tough to maintain such a high standard, especially when time is against you, experience, and honest comments like mine will help you to bring out the best you can do, you deserve no less.
Thanks cyberfrank! I really appreciate the nice comment. It means a lot! :)

Quoting ~ Brick The landscape in this build is nice, but I must say...I dislike the dragon. It's wings are far too thin, and it just doesn't have a very natural stance.
