This is the newest (and final) version of the AV series I've been putting out since 2007. I've kept many of the good attributes and threw away the rest. More pictures coming soon.
About this creation
From the Russian word for "Griffin" comes the last of its kind. This MOC has evolved much over the years, and I have finally gotten to the conclusion of this particular model. I still plan on designing some companion pieces, such as a heavy craft, and a strike craft as well. My apologies for the iPhone quality photos. My wife lost our good camera on a train. :-(
Here is the '92 from the front folded for carrier storage. An LHD class amphibian can house 2 full squadrons of this model. The ballistic "Hellfire" launchers have been retained from the previous generations.
The overall design has remained intact, but engineers have streamlined the chassis, shedding a classified amount of weight by replacing many surfaces with composite materials. The communications array is in a well-shielded dome between the wing pylons.
This view demonstrates the stretched out, less bulky design of this model. The main turbines have been upgraded for extra thrust, external drop-tanks have been added for extended range of missions. The landing skids have also been overhauled and fold away for flight.
This angle is great to showcase the the lines. Many BL orders went into getting all of the slopes and wedges necessary.
The Grifon in takeoff position.
This view shows the folded back landing struts and new design on the chin-mounted mini-gat.
The underside of the Grifon I tried to load with detail but maintain a clean appearance. I've donw what I could to eliminate studs, but found that I couldn't go completely studless.
The Grifon's pilot stand by his craft. Cocky son of a nut cracker!
I will write more in-depth once I get all of my pictures uploaded and edited. Stay tuned!

Wow! This is a really cool Gunship! I really like how the turbines are multi-directional and weapons layout is top-notch! 2 thumbs up here.
Thank you for the comment! This wasn't the first version, and as I got back into building, I learned a lot of things to add more realism and reduce size. Believe it or not, the Turbines aren't ideal. I've actually come up with what I think is a better solution, but I'm saving it for a different model.
