Cordaz V2.0 (Self MOC)
Remember this? You might recognize him as that one guy claiming to be my self MOC. Well, I told him that if he wanted to be represent me on the pages, he would need to polish and refine himself. Boy, did he take my advice to heart...

BACK STORY
(Okay guys, prepare for a LONG read :/...)

0. 100,000 A.M.N. (After Mata Nui)
Those of you who saw this before v1 probably are unaware of the state of the universe Cordaz and company's story takes place in. 100,000 years After Mata Nui's spirit went dormant in the Ignika, civilization on Spherus Magna was transformed into a thriving, technologically advanced metropolis; a city called Omni-Koro almost literally covering the entire planet (think of Coruscant from Star Wars). Because of all of these advancements, the immersion of firearms and tech-weaponary nearly drove the Toa's elemental powers to obsolescence. To counter this, Toa powers evolved, such as the ability to directly control protosteel, mask powers that provided a user with infinite ammo, etc. Because criminal activity increased, the remaining Toa banded together to form a law enforcement-esque organization entitled the Order of the Last Legacy.

1. 5,000 years ago...
While scavenging for food out in the wasteland areas of Omni-Koro, a young Po-Matoran noticed a large silver shape lying out in the middle of the sand. Upon closer inspection, he noticed it was a fellow matoran. Realizing the sun was about disappear and wild rahi would infest the wasteland, he attempted to wake up the unconscious matoran. After a few shakes, the matoran awoke, blinking several times before coming to. "How did you get here?" The Po-Matoran asked. The foreign matoran seemed to ponder for a few moments before sullenly answering.
"I...Don't know."
He continued to ask the foreigner questions; "Do you know where you are?" "Where are you from?" "Do you have any friends I can contact?"
The stranger repeatedly gave the same answer: "I don't know." Finally, the Po-Matoran asked what the stranger's name was. Mysteriously, the stranger didn't have to give one thought at his answer.
"My name is Cordaz."
The Po-Matoran invited Cordaz back to his home in the city, which he obliged to. While travelling back to the community, they were ambushed by marauders, demanding half of their supplies. Before they could extract their goods by force, Cordaz brandished his katanas and slew them without receiving a scratch. During the battle, he had activated his elemental powers by stopping bullets in midair, lifting on of the marauders by its metallic armor and throwing it into a nearby dune. After spending several nights at the Matoran's home, the Po-Matoran guided Cordaz to the Order of the Last Legacy's HQ.
2.the Legacy
After Cordaz arrived at the legacy HQ, he was almost instantly recruited due to his great amount of skill and control over his power. Though when asked where he was taught, he always answered clueless. After several years of serving the Legacy, he was ordered to supervise a new recruit named Torvis. After the two became close friends and great allies, Cordaz requested to form a unit consisting of him, Torvis, and another member. The Legacy was aware of Cordaz's valuable and worthwhile inquiries and granted him permission to do so. They were then asked to demonstrate their efficiency by eliminating a vigilante that was active in a nearby sector. Little did they know, the vigilante was Agaru, who would become his second subordinate. Over the years, he would assist a sergeant in the Omni-Koro Guard named Kirah, whom he would also quickly befriend.
3. Death...
Eventually, Cordaz learned of Agaru's nemesis, Zephirak and attempted to aid Agaru in their confrontation. However, Zephirak unleashed an attack that demolished the sector that they were battling in, causing devastating effects. Agaru had been previously wounded during the skirmish, and had to be rescued by Cordaz. However, they failed to escape the attack and were hit by the blast. As a last resort, Cordaz threw himself in front of Agaru and took the full force of the blast, his body racked by dark energies. Dying, Cordaz bequeathed his authority to Agaru, telling him how he was glad his best friends had survived and he didn't have to die in vain. With that final farewell, the life left his body...Only to arrive at the red star.
4. ...And Revival
Prior to the aforementioned events, the Red Star had been repaired and continued its duty of repairing deceased inhabitants of Spherus Magna. As usual, the Kestora proceeded to repair Cordaz. Instead of placing him in a new body, they suddenly stopped short and recoiled in fear. They looked at one another before turning back to Cordaz, who was functional again. "You should not be here." One of them muttered, while Cordaz stared blankly at their faces. "Fix the master's body, restore it to it's previous state! Supply him with new weapons, NOW!"
"Master?..." Cordaz had no idea what they were talking about, "What are you-?" Before he could finish his sentence, everything went black once more. Cordaz awoke in the middle of Omni-Koro Sector 1 in an upgraded body and new weapons. Although the Last Legacy was bewildered by his unexplained revival, he resumed his post as the captain of squad 22. He kept the events on the Red Star a secret to keep his friends from worrying about him.

Breaching the Fourth Line of Defense

After building Zephirak, I had to return to school from my Winter Vacation >:(. Because of homework and all that annoying junk, I had barely any time to think about what I wanted to make next. After flipping through the pages I've uploaded, I realized that someone needed a drastic update. I took into account the numerous pieces of advice and criticism you helpful viewers pitched in and created something I hope you all are satisfied with. I give you my self-MOC, Cordaz, Toa of Protosteel 2.0! :D

It's a start, right? :/

One of the things people mentioned was non other than the overall appearance of Cordaz. He looked to bulky to be a thinker, those rounded shoulders didn't look so hot, the upper arms and legs were unfinished, and the non-custom wrists and shins didn't work well with the rest of him :/ Hopefully V2.0 makes up for all that...

They said he wasn't custom enough. Is 100% custom good enough?!

VOILA!...Okay, it's less of an update and more of a complete rebuilding! The first version was a failed attempt at a ninja-esque MOC. This one's supposed to be like a knight. Do you like it? I hope so. ^_^ Do I like it? Well...

HECK YES, I do! Gone are those simple, lanky arms and legs, those cursed rounded shoulders, that simple brutish look and those scrappy weapons. Best part?!

Cordaz: "Well, I won't be needing this anymore!"

No more Inika Build! xD He's 100% custom!

Profile view. IMO, he looks good from the side. I feel as if he has a well proportioned build and plenty of armor. He also looks sophisticated now as if he possesses intelligence.

He's also quite a bit thinner than his first version, as you can see in comparison with the Inika Build. Personally, I like this change. He's still bulky, but not on the level of Krekka or Stronius bulky :P

Back view with and without weapons. I personally disliked the look of the katanas and replaced them with the Inika Matoro swords. They look a lot better and fit the character more. :) I'd also say, that for once, the back is armored up nicely. He actually looks well protected this time around xD

One of my favorite things about this edition of my selfie? BOOM, Custom head! :D Wasn't lying when I said he was 100% custom! It does look kind of generic, but there is a reason as to why I made it. Had I used a traditional Metru or Mata head, he would either have a stubby or giraffe type neck.

Close up Time! The Body. I frickin' love it. He was meant to mimic that of a toa nuva and I think it works pretty well. I ditched Hordika body plate in favor of the Nuva type because I, quite frankly, think it looks better. Also, Heartlight FTW! I should probably state my opinion on heartlights...I think they can look good and all, but have the potential to be waaaay overplayed. I'll put one in if the opportunity is given, but I'm not going to go out of my way just to shove a colored stud in the middle of my MOC's chest. :| (I don't want to sound mean.)

Arms. The upper arms aren't all that original, but I think they suit Cordaz's build well. The lower arms, in contrast, look pretty nice. Sorry about that gap in the middle of his elbow, I need to keep that there for flexibility.

Legs-Front. Those Knight's Kingdom shin guards look pretty bada$$. The upper legs are actually a little more complicated than they might seem. I took me a while to get the look I intended.

The back suffers slightly from looking a bit unpolished, but I think they're alright.

Body-Back. As I said earlier; I think it's well armored and polished. Only wish I could find a different way to store the weapons >_<

The head is pretty well shaped. The Avokhii covers up the face pretty well.

He's also very flexible. He can split his legs like most MOCs can...

...He can kick back...

...rock his guns...

and take a-*ahem*I mean Squat! :3

He can also reach all the way around his front and back. But most notably...

*GASP!* He can cross his arms! ^_^ :D

Now for some random poses.

GRRRRRR. Getting ready to spar with Agaru.

Assuming a thinking pose. He is supposed to be intelligent as he is strong, you know. :)

He often spends his time meditating or doing Yoga when he isn't running his sushi shop or whooping butt.

He also has decent balance, even though waist articulation is somewhat lacking. He does have a waist joint, but it's hindered by his overcharged armor.

He does, however, have enough clearance to lean back and point n' laugh xD

Cordaz: "Ha! Agaru has a girlfriend!"
In reality, he's just jealous -_-

Since his old shatter-speed katanas were destroyed by Zephirak, they were replaced by two Protosteel Great-swords.

He can channel his elemental energy through it and fire blasts of energized protodermis at opponents. However, it usually doesn't inflict the full transformation effects raw EP does.

Wielding both at once. His combat stature usually involves him keeping low to the ground, staying in an offensive-defensive position. His power over other metals is also strong, as he can stop bullets in midair, turn them around, and send them hurtling towards enemies. o.O

He also possesses his immense strength and physique, able to lift several tons. Did I mention he benches 3,000 pounds? Twice a day?...With one arm? o.O

Oops, sorry, Cordaz. Didn't mean to embarrass you!

Don't forget his exceptional skill at Close Quarters Combat! (Insert Metal Gear Solid reference here)

Agaru: "I suppose there's one thing Toa of Sushi decided to retain..."
Cordaz: "And what, I suppose would that be?"

Agaru: "You're still short!" xD
Cordaz: "WHAT DID YOU SAY?!" *SMACK*

Cordaz: "Anyone else have anything to add to that?!"

Kirah: "Mm-hm..."

Zephirak: "..."

Cordaz: "Why...Why does it always have to be me?!"

As mentioned before, Cordaz runs a grade A+ sushi bar in Omni-Koro when he's off duty.

Agaru: "Hey, Cordaz..."

Cordaz: "Yeah, what's up?"

Agaru: "Aren't these california rolls a little, um, I don't know, A LITTLE TOO BIG?!

Cordaz: "Don't even think about wasting all that food!! >:("
Agaru: "Mmmmrf!"

Above almost everything else, Cordaz absolutely HATES it when you throw out food he cooks.

Well, I guess it's bye for now :( I had fun remaking Cordaz and creating his back story. I hope he looks somewhat decent now and that I improved upon everything you guys wanted me to. I actually made him shorter this time around, LOL, to mimic my physique and style. As always, comments and feedback are well appreciated. Until next time! MOC on! -Toa of Sushi

BONUS: Cordaz V0.5
BTW, Cordaz is actually a lot older than you may think. The video down below is one I created back in 2009, 5th Grade to showcase an "unnamed MOC" made for a Youtube MOC contest. I only won "most flexible MOC," but hey, what was I expecting? I was cleaning up my room a few months ago when I found him tucked neatly in a corner, in one piece. He's grown so much! ^_^

Another BONUS: I'd hate to be a shameless parasite, but Garret A. had this really good idea he posted on his self MOC. I think it's a really good way to get to know the MOC (and moi). Basically, you ask Cordaz a question through the comments and I answer the question (with a name change). Garret, if you feel I'm being a bothersome leech, feel free to kick me in the head.

The next day...

Wow, front page? :(______) Thanks, guys! :D

It says that Cordaz was a matoran when he was found by a po matoran, so how did he become a toa?
Forgive me if I am wrong, but I believe "Matoran" can be applied to the race Matoran and Toa are part of.

Quoting Gringat the Repugnant Excellently done! I love the build. It's smooth, sleek and strong looking, and while the silver avhokii is very overused, it fits this character well, especially taking his backstory into account. Speaking of which, I really like the idea of Omni-Koro. It's a setting I've not really got anything similar to in my own storyline and your backstory, the build and even the music choices blend well together to give me a really good mental picture of it. Keep doing what you're doing! :) PS: I should probably give some constructive criticism too, so... for the sake of argument, there are two areas on him that are still non-custom. Those are his pelvis and his mask. If you really want him to be 100% custom you'll have to remodel those. The connection of the thighs to hips does look a bit sparse, though I don't think he really needs a custom mask.
Gah, you nitpicker. >:D Just kidding; I appreciate helpful criticism. I don't think it would be worthwhile to give him a custom pelvis, so I'll settle for the 98% mark. :) But you're right about the custom hip part, I may do a repost when I finish making his Nova Blast Form-WHOOPS! I've said too much. :#

I agree, it can be challenging working out a good torso design. ':| Usually what I do is put together the armor pieces I want to use in a dry-fit fashion, then find some way to make it work. :) Keep it up though, you'll find a way!

Aaaag...The comment got clipped. Okay, that makes sense. I'll try that sometime!
Quoting Quoting Andrew31kbrick193 /// Great job on the new version. It really is better. I love the articulation in this. I also think the custom head is genius, I never thought of making a head like that, I may actually start doing it for a possible revamp of one of my Toa.
Only problem with the head is that it doesn't work with Mata or Tohunga masks. But that can be fixed by switching the "mouth piece" out. Also, the "studs-down" technique interferes with the neck, limiting articulation. :/

You know the joints that allow for all movement? Like the ones found on limbs and other things? Yeah, those. Or better yet: http://images.mocpages.com/user_images/75937/1387840842m_DISPLAY.jpg See how I did the elbow here? Those types of joints. Do those types of joints, and it will both move better, and look better.

Quoting Ventum (Mittens) I enjoy this moc. I like how the designs are, and I also like the overall feel. It looks very knightly and that's a good thing. I also like how you used the Avoikii here. It actually looks pretty good. My only complaint is the elbow joints. They kind of make me wanna cry. Other than that, Great moc. Can't wait to see more from you.
Aaaah, the elbows! :'^( I explained this very briefly in the description, but I had to make them that way for flexibility, but I'm working on trying to find a different way to make the elbows. :)
Quoting Will "Cub" R. Neat build! Funky, yet functional arm thingie, but you have way too many theme songs for this dude.

Quoting Reaper . I'm actually quite impressed with this. While the story could use a little compressing, the Moc (and pics) are really nice. I'd suggest looking into an alternate elbow connection. Other than that, pretty nice
Thanks! I'm still working on a better way for the elbows to connect without losing too much articulation.
Quoting Commander Spencer Cordaz put his big boy pants on! FANTASTIC improvement over V1, not to mention that I love that elbow. SO MUCH ARTICULATION!!!
To heck with heartlights, ARTICULATION FTW!!!
Quoting Kangar Baker of Cupcakes This is wonderful! Astounding Improvement! Although I haven't yet read the story (I'll get a chance to later today) I absolutely love everything else, from the specs to the presentation to the MOC itself! As pretty much everyone else said, the lower elbows are a bit lacking, but I suggest using a one stud longer half-hight liftarm to have the ball joint be better connected on the inside. Anyway, great MOC!
Yeah, the elbows seem to be something a lot of people have addressed, lol. Unfortunately, extending that lift arm would kill the sideways articulation that the elbows currently have. He wouldn't be able to cross his arms. -_- And what would he be if he couldn't do even that? (just kidding, lol)

Quoting X ~ This...is....GREAT. This is the Cordaz that ROCKS! Absolutely love everything about him. The legs work so nicely with the KK armor. His torso is obviously the best part...NO INIKA ARMOR FTW! The arms are a nice start, but the exposed technic bits in the arms make the arms look unfinished. But it doesn't look bad, it's more or less a nitpick. Anyway Cordaz V2 is the best version yet! And don't worry about height. X(my self moc) used to be pretty short and stocky, but with some upgrades he got taller. But yeah Great Job! :)
Thanks! :D I mentioned this at the end, but I wanted to make him shorter than my other MOCs. I see what you're getting at with the arms, but I'd end up ki11ing some of the articulations. Then he wouldn't be able to cross his arms >_< lol.
