June Beetle
Nimble little 1 person fighter, uses one of the LEGO dice pieces as a core. The red color and shape kinda make it look like a little beetle, hence the name :)
About this creation

Ola!

Ship pieces with the die in the center

A few other angles:

This was a fun little build to bring in some color. I acquired a few lego board games and wanted to see if the die pieces could be used in some way. I used one as a center piece, making the ship sort of modular but it's not very stable. The 4 studs on each sides aren't enough grip. The front keeps dropping when it's swooshed. Display purpose only then!

Too slowly, my friend. Too slowly. This is the first time my work will be on public display and I think that is causing me to take more chin-rubbing time and not enough putting two pieces together time;) Thanks for asking.

Thanks Tim, was just messing around a bit! Seen some nice work from you over on Flickr, How's the preparations for Brickworld going? Grtz
Quoting Tim C Not sure how I missed this being posted, Pico. Love the shape and the coloring, but what really stands out to me is the fact that you utilized the LEGO die for the SNOT work. Don't think I've seen that before. Superb work, man.

Unfortunately another one wouldn't fit. Small shippy. Perhaps in another build, though I kinda developed a bit of a hatred for the dice atm ;)
Quoting JWG 258 Thats a creative use of the die part. What do you think of using a pair of dice as the core?

Thanks, more dice would definitely help, yet the bulky size (more than 2x2 studs effectively) doesn't make this my favorite piece to use for the purpose. http://i.stack.imgur.com/o8ukM.png these are better.
Quoting Mister Lego ~ Nice retro fighter! Great job incorporating the dice. It has me wondering if you could use multiple dice to make it a bit stronger..?

Like this little ship a lot! Ingenious using a dice piece for the core. Lots of detail too for the amount of pieces. 2 Thumbs up!

Cheers guys! It's a bit of a pita to fly, but it's a nice addition to the fleet :) Onwards

A style of build after my own heart. I like using those bubble canopies on the front of things and the all over red looks super. I think that this has a retro look, like something from Gerry Anderson and the 1960s sci-fi. I like the modular build too: probably easier to come apart in a crash but easier to rebuild afterwards. A super ship {even if the front does fall off during flight! Love the honesty! :) }

Always love seeing big bubble canopies in sleek little flyers, gives them an adorable quality. As far as the instability for swooshing, as with mine, I just think of them as old warhorses past their prime, jalopies of space. Adds to the love of the pilot keeping her in the air. ;) Awesome!

Clever build, I'm impressed. Shame it's not as stable as you'd like. No swooshing, alas
