Salvation appears in the sky as the mighty Furno Jet Machine soars into battle! This is set #44018, with 79 pieces
About this creation

As usual, these Battle Machines include a sticker sheet, which I will not be using. Sorry, but I think it ruins the parts and not entirely necessary. Sorry about that.

As usual;
1 regular torso piece
4 grey five-long upper limb pieces
6 black five-long lower limb pieces
1 black three-long lower limb piece
4 black single socket pieces
2 black five-long double socket pieces
1 black perpendicular ball-pin connector piece
2 red feet

4 gunmetal four-long armour pieces
4 red five-long armour pieces
1 silver five-long printed armour piece
2 gunmetal "Breakout (Wave 2)" shoulder pieces
1 orange seat

1 trans-black windscreen
2 red "Brain Attack" flame pieces
2 red bladed fire shooters
2 trans-red cylindrical container pieces
2 red turbine pieces
1 light grey "H" pin connector piece
2 trans-clear 4-by-4 reversed round tiles
2 light grey 2-by-2 round bricks with grille
and an assortment of other little technic/system pieces.

The Minifigures included in this set are Furno and a lime green Beast Larve variant

See my Evo Walker Review for both the ins and outs of the Hero Figs and the Beast Larve in general.

Whilst Stormer was my favorite of the figures released so far, Furno is probably the second best. Whilst it doesn't look as perfect in minifig form as Stormer's did, the designers did a good job of capturing the feel of Furno (heck, it's better than his Brain Attack helmet, at least) and does a look quite nice. This one also works well with the roundness of the minifig head beneath, which is good. I will say that it looks a little chimp-ish, but I thought that about the original. (I never really liked Furno's helmet, even if Brain Attack made me appreciate it a lot more)

The colours are quite nice. The red works pretty well with the gunmetal chest piece this time around. I hope the gunmetal Furno is just for this year though; I think there is a little disproportion with gunmetal sporting Heroes and silver sporting Heroes. Not that I mind gunmetal; I just think silver needs a little more love, that's all.

Overall I give this one a gentle thumbs up. I prefer Stormer, but this is one of the nicer ones of the series.

Okay; I ain't gonna mess around with this. This is the best set of the entire series. Thinking of buying only one set? Buy this one. In fact, I may be stretching it a bit, but this may be one of my favorite Hero Factory sets of all time. I love this one.

The texture of this one is perfect, the shape, the build, the colours, everything! Just look at how the Breakout pieces, and the red armour piece blend in so well with the seat! Look how well Furno fits in there! Look how well the Orange seat works well with the colour! This is the first time I've seen the orange seat work well with a set this far!

My all time favorite thing about this set though is the way they connected the arms. As you may of guessed, they used the "arm sockets" of the torso piece for armour. How did they solve this? No Furno XL/Frost Beast nonsence, they kept it plain and simple, just by using Hero Factory bones. Not only is this inventive, but this hels keep a streamlined shape, complements the thickness of the whole thing, and allows free joints to connect lots of stuff. This is great.

I like how they attached the container on the back vertically instead of horisontally, to help cover up the back and add a little more variety to the Battle Machines.

The Beast Larve fits in fine. As I said in my Stormer Freeze Machine Review the containers don't hold more than three, and even two is a bit of a struggle, but hey, the one fits in okay, so I won't moan.

This is clever. Instead of living the pelvis piece being awkward and Furno's feet dangling exposed, they used that armour piece to be Furno's foot rest. That's clever.

The legs are nice and short, which compliments this set well. The machine is short and wide, much like some kind of attack dog. It's nice that they've decided to go with this theme, I quite like this look. There are little accessories attached to the sides too, including a gun, and...

...a fire extinguisher? Well. I know that it's possible that it could catch fire, but it just would seem a little bit of a fail. Like; fighting fire with fire and then being set alight by your own fire. I dunno. Obviously a little comical to think about, but I guess better safe than sorry.

Having lights on this one seems cool; a little more practical than the other machines; I mean, I'm sure the Heroes won't fight off an army of giant monsters by sunset, and it's not like a game of cricket, where they'll stop in poor light conditions.

The flaming turbines are a nice feature too. At first, I was worried when I saw the pictures and everything that the Furno Jet Machine would miss out on the whole "Jet" part of it, which would have been a fail. Fortunately, I aquired this thing called common sense before buying this and realised that the turbines could be turned around, so that the flames act as both weapons and jets. Just clearing that up for anyone who was wondering that.

I guess, If I wanted to nitpick, I could say that one thing I don't like is the arms. Particularly the forearms, or lack thereof. I'm all for short arms with this one, but just to have those flame shooters just slapped on at the end looks a little scrappy. But, I'm nitpicking and I'm not going to moan.

Awesome, awesome, AWESOME!! I'm going to rate this set in three different catogories; Toy value (how good it is to play with and pose ect.), Design Value (The design, including the colour scheme and how it was built) and Moccist Value (The amount of good pieces).
This is how this set turns out;

Toy Value: 4/5 (Nothing really special, but what is there is done right.)

Design Value: 5/5 (Everything is fantastic about the design. I really love this one.)

Moccist Value: 3/5 (Y'know, A nice, healthy selection of pieces, even if we don't really get anything too amazing.)

Total score: 12/15

Comments: I can only say "This is brilliant" So many times, but it's my all time favorite. The design is so basic, yet we get so much out of it. Can't really ask for more.

Definitely getting this one and Jaw Beast. To be honest, those are the best two in the whole Invasion From Below series (yes, Summer wave included). The Jet Machine is the only machine that actually looks complete and smooth, and Jaw Beast is the only beast without some goofy gimmick that makes it look weird. Thanks for these reviews, Werty.

Quoting Legobob 29 Good review and finally a good set! I might get this one and keep it together for a little (The others I'm getting I'm probably taking apart). :D

Quoting Toa Chains Yet another amazing review! I think this one looks pretty good and I might pick him up. The thing is though with these sets is that they look a bit strange to me. I think its a good concept but i don't think it really worked. Again nice review!
Yeah, they are definately an experement. Personally though, I don't mind the concept too much. Some are better than others but I'm okay with it in general.

Quoting Reaper . @Wert: Did you see the most recent One Day match? We needed 301 to win and we got it. Our last batsman won it for us.
AAH! Don't tell me anything! We've recorded it but haven't seen it!!

Quoting Reaper . Once again, fantastic review. I must say, I am astounded. Save for the forearms, this actually looks good. I always knew the Orange seat would work well with the red mech (classic Tahu Red-and-orange). I'm very impressed. I guess I was expecting something more along the design lines of the Exo-Force Stealth Hunter when I read "jet-Machine", but still. Oh, and speaking of cricket. We won again! Haha!
Yes, This one is very nice. Grr, I guess I deserved that last bit; after the snide comment I made about the ashes when we were winning :P
