The awesome Airwolf helicopter in a much smaller (and cuter) package! I am really amazed at how authentic looking I made this considering how little experience I have in microscale building. Everything from the colors to the weapons is basically just a shrunk down version of the Minifig scale model.
About this creation
”The Firm’s” aircraft lab (how it was built):
This build went much differently than most my previous ones. In general, everything I build, from helicopters to cars, I’ve built front to back. With this I started with the tail and moved to the nose. I thought the tail would be the hardest, but the whole thing ended up being really challenging. I don’t know how long it took, but it was longer then my average build time for MOCs (my average is about 8 hours).
Running her through her paces (about the chopper):
I am extremely happy with how this came out. I am amazed that I pulled it off as well as I did. The shape is perfect, and even the two tone color came out really well (it was really hard on the tail). The only problem is that the ADF (All Directional Fire) rocket launcher is only two barrel and not three. I also couldn’t get the landing gear to work, the tail is so heavy that it flipped backward unless the landing gear was disproportionate to the rest of it. The Minifig scale model is 1/36 scale. Microwolf is 1/4 Minifig Scale making it 1/144 scale.
Airwolf in its natural habitat, flying through a canyon at mach 1!
The canyon was a really quick build, but it actually looks pretty nice. I might use it to display some future builds.
