My Entry for the Classic Space Pocket Money II Contest
About this creation
Here is my entry for the Classic Space Pocket Money Contest II , The Brazilian. This entry was named as such for the colour scheme (colours of the flag of Brazil) and the fact that this year Brazil will host the World Cup! The main model is sturdy an swooshable! The other models have a cool classic space retro feeling and playabilty to them. I used all parts for each of the models. Thanks David and David for putting the contest on! Also feel free to download the LDD file for the main model, or email if you want the LDD files for the ALT Models!

Enjoy!

Part used...

Main Model - The Brazilian...

Alt Model - Deep Space telescope and Scooter...

Alt Model - Crater Hopper...

Thanks guys for hosting the contest! Its was a load of fun!
Quoting David Alexander Smith Spiky fast and awash with sassy flavour. This thing looks sleek, fast and so cool. A winner in the colour challenge in my book. 9 That mech alternative, playing to your strengths, but seriously overall great alternatives. 9 Straight forward but very good swooshing fun. 8 This feels fresh and retro at the same time, and CS through and through. 8

Thank you for the thorough explanatory judging (shows you guys are really looking at these entries with a fine tooth comb) and for putting on this contest with the other David. It was a lot of fun to build outside my usual realm - and will likely get me to build a few classic space inspired MOCs down the road too! Cheers guys and thanks again for hosting the contest!
Quoting David Roberts I like how you've substituted the CS grey for green and stuck to the colours of the Brazilian flag for this build. The MOC looks to a very practical small spacecraft, perfect for zooming around. I like the way that you've included the instrument panels and the very stable landing gear. 8 Excellent ideas for alternative builds. Your experience and expertise clearly shines through in the Crater Hopper. Its legs have strong connections and the big feet, help to keep it stable. As does the trans windscreen! I realise that the parts limitations stopped you from giving it bigger feet and this is a neat solution. Telescope looks great on its tall, trans stand and wide, brick built base. the scooter is a nice touch too. I like it that you've used all of the parts in all three builds. 9 The spacecraft is solidly built, as you show in your video, with strong, brick-built wings and other connections. Apart from the hinged canopy, this highly swooshable build doesn't do much else. Whilst a big scanner or grab or detachable satellite would have spoilt its clean lines, something of this sort would have boosted your points in this section. 6 Strangely, wing mounted missile type things were part of the CS models, so they're in keeping here. I like the shape of this MOC: wings in space are very CS. With its single tailfin and short, green, double, front prongs, this is a technically a Vic Viper too! Lastly the semi enclosed cockpit adds to the CS feel. 8 Total 31

Nice eye catching color scheme. I like the mix of new and classic space parts to make the most of each era.

Quoting Alex Sonny Sweet! Interesting colour choices, and I like how you made us an LDD model as well. It's interesting to see that old space helmets are available in LDD too (although I have enough of the real ones ;) Anyway, a really neat build, staying true to the CS design lines yet with a new and actual design scheme!

Quoting Disco Chicken How did you get the classic space guy in ldd? I thought the classic space parts were retired by LEGO.

I used the yellow one to match the colour scheme of the Brazilian flag!
Quoting Disco Chicken Nice! I don't think yellow classic spacemen are my favorite though! I prefer black, blue, or white.

Neat colourscheme! I particularly like the imaginative mech design, but the other two models are great fun too! Good luck!

very good! I like the color scheme, it s harmonious, I like the mech best, it makes me wonder on how great you could do if you had nt had to compromise on parts to build a big one, I m planning to make one for Genesis, but, the design is nt established yet, great entry Chris!
