The E-100 was a last-minute idea that occurred because I was wanting to build a german vehicle to test out my new overlapping roadwheels technique so i debated between this and a Panther. I originally thought about building it in 1/15 scale to match re465's Maus but after realizing that the tracks were 8 studs wide I had to change my mind. So a little history on this Vehicle, it was a Super-heavy tank that wasn't ever finished by the germans in WWII. Only 1 hull was completed so people debate quite a bit about what turret that was mounted on it.I personally mounted the Krupp turret (Maus II Turn) because it would conserve the amount of smooth tiles used on it. This is one of my largest tanks yet, it even tops my A39 Tortoise in size and in weight(9lbs) so Enjoy
the gun traverse lock is to prevent the gun from damaging the gun or (buildings)
the hatches work just like the real tank they have to be lifted up and swiveled outwards.
The red switch on the left is for the lights, the gear on the right (if turned clockwise will turn some bevel gears that lead up to a worm gear setup thats attached to a rack for turning on the AA battery pack
the V-12 engine (its actually quite loud) also this is the only photo with flash because i couldn't get good lighting in there
the turret hatches (they don't open because of the internals of the turret)
the trailing arm suspension at work
the 8:1 ratio for the drivetrain
just a idea of what this tank will do to one of CHE's defective BR-7's this could be your tank when fighting me in D&C III
Wow such a nice work! This tank just looks amazing. I like the idea of a working engine. But the part i like the most are the sides of the hull. They are perfectly shaped. Maybe your E-100 want to join my Jagdtiger on the battlefield? I build it also in 1/20.
mmmmm much tank, many pieces, such german,
hush and take my money!!!!!
but one thing, the rear turret face angle isnt steep enough, but i still want one!
Exceptional. The turret's proportions are a bit off, and the tracks are a little thin, which you cannot do anything about anyway, but mostly this is a work of art, and I believe one of only three German super heavies on the pages, two of which are the same design by two different people! Would love to see a video though. Great work and good luck in divide and conquer three!
