LTC Darkrider (With Instructions)
My first creation of 2014! Don’t worry; this has nothing to do with the train Legoformer known as ‘Hellrider’. The whole idea of this guy was to somehow build a Minifig-scaled Motorbike transformer that the Minifigure could ride on and that could still transform. Of course, it needed to be a bigger bike than most, but it was still a challenge. I succeeded, though. It turned out wonderfully. I may purchase this in my Pick-A-Brick order, and I may not. On the topic of the order, however, there will be a small delay. This short pre-MOC comic should explain it while still providing comic relief.
About this creation

Declan: Hey there! You probably already know me, as I’m on the buddy icon. So, since I need no introductions, I’ll get strait to the point.

Declan: I have some news regarding the upcoming Pick-A-Brick order.

Declan: While I have my ideas about what I should get, and have already made $155, I am going to, well…

Declan:…spectre is gonna be so angry for this…

Declan: I’m planning on postponing the Pick-A-Brick order until I’ve made enough cash.

Declan: Do not worry, though. There will be many new MOCs before then. Also, I promise not to delay it as long as I did last time. June was way too late. You can also expect a transformer in full colour for a contest by Chris Roach to arrive on the pages sometime soon.
Sounds of truck driving roll in from the distance
Declan: What was that?

???: DECLAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Declan: OH CRAP! SOMEONE’S ANGRY! AHHHH!

Optimus Prime: GIVE ME YOUR FACE!
Declan: AH!

Declan: Phew! What a relief I jumped out in time. Anyway, I’m outta here. Enjoy the MOC!

Optimus Prime: It’s just you and me!
Declan: No, it’s just you! Leave me alone!

Moving along to the MOC itself, we now have Darkrider in his vehicle mode.

The bike actually has two wheels at the front and one wheel at the back, though they do not spin.

You can see the singular wheel at the back here.

Although he’s not the custom figure I’d prefer to ride this guy, I’m going to use the Minifigures Series 10 Paintball Player. I really wish I’d found Mr Gold in stores, but I never did. :(

Here’s how you place the guy on the bike.

1: Fold up the back section.

2: Place the Minifigure on the hinge brick while holding the handlebars.

3: Fold the hinge brick down so that the Minifigure can be sitting. Make sure that he’s still holding the bars.

4: Fold down the back section.

And as you can see, he sits in there perfectly…

…even though he’s facing down and not looking at the road.

Darkrider comes with two swords. These are basically the ones left over from Kai’s Mech.

There are two places you can put them in vehicle mode. The first is the back section.

They easily fit into there like so.

When driving along, they look like the flag holders (a bit).

The second place you can put them is on the front.

Using the same system, they fit in like so.

The swords actually work a lot better this way, in my opinion.

Now for the transformation!
1: Stand it up.

2: Fold out the back section 45 degrees.

3: Fold out the guns.

4: Bring out the arms.

5: Separate the legs.

6: Bring down the wheels so that they fall over the waist.

7: Bring down the torso.

8: Fold down the control panel to reveal the head.

9: Push up the antenna.

10: Rotate the arms down at the elbows.

11: Rotate the arms down at the shoulders.

And here we have Darkrider in his robot mode!

There’s a wee bit of kibble on the back, but who cares.

In a size comparison with the example Minifigure, you can see that Darkrider is a little smaller than most of the LTC legoformers.

But who cares about the standard Minifig. YOU WANNA SEE A REAL MINIFIGURE, RIGHT?

There are two places you can place the swords in, and the back isn’t one of them. The first is on the sides, where they were when this guy was in vehicle mode.

This time, however, they face the other way around.

It really gives him a samurai look, but he’s not a samurai. Look at Samuron if you wanna see some samurai Transformers.

The second place you can put them is kinda self-explanatory. I don’t believe I need to say anything

See?

He can hold the swords. What can I say?

As an added gimmick, the legs can transform to allowh im to roller-skate.

Well, sort of…

The guns can face forward for this part.

And that’s it! That’s all there is to see in Darkrider. Proceed if you want the know-how of its building, though.

Here are the parts you’ll need. They’re not in the right colours, so just make him black or something…

Sorry about the last parts. I forgot to show them earlier. Just add them to your pile...

Anyway, here’s how to assemble him!

And that’s it! Don’t forget to like, comment and add me as a fave builder. And as always, happy building! :)
