TT Intro: A long journey
About this creation
My intro for The Tourney 2014.
Guild: Average Gnomes
Guild theme song: Average Gnomes Theme Song
Bracket: Wrestling

As Halbert approached the hill, he pondered the coming months.

He had joined up with the Average Gnomes guild to compete in the Tourney in Carthal. While he wore most of the Average Gnomes uniform, he sadly lacked the magical speedos that most of the others wore, as the leader ran out. Instead, he merely wore a pair of magical red pants.

The journey from Meids to Carthal was long and hard, with frequent blizzards and outlaw attacks. It was a relief to finally arrive at the warm coastal city.

And yet...
He would have to go months without hearing from Filberth. Halbert was worried; while Filberth was a good fighter, he wasn't as skilled as Halbert. And there was no knowing what Filberth might have to face.

Then again, there was no knowing what Halbert might face either.....

Even though this was a fairly quick, last day build, I did spend quite some time on the hinged rockwork and path, and I'm quite pleased with the result.

A dead body lies beneath the hill...

An above view to best show the curvature of the path.

Figless.

Thanks for viewing!

Yep :) Glad you like it, there will probably be more examples of it (or at least more complex rockwork then just basic studs-up) since I posted a rockwork tutorial in my guild group.

Quoting Alex Rode Beautiful build. I gotta try those rocks, haha. They don't look that hard, but I'm sure that when I try them, I'll get very frustrated :P
Thanks Alex! It's actually way harder than it looks, partially considering that they're a bit fragile, part because I don't (yet) have any of the new mini ball joints, and part because filling in the gaps is really difficult.

Quoting Ian ..... Sorry about not giving a longer comment. I had to get on and off quickly. I really like the rockwork and the pond looks cool. Too bad you don't have the pieces to make a proper speedo :P
I forgot to explain about the speedo. I'll do that now...

Quoting ~ Brick Really beautiful build Halhi! I'll first get my first nit-pic over with...I think the water/pond is slightly blocky, but it doesn't spoil the scene in the least! The sloping path is outstanding, and so is the entire build! *cough*I'd love a sloping ground tutorial;)*cough* ~Brick
I'll post the tutorial tomorrow morning maybe... Thanks!

Quoting Gilbert Despathens What, the zombie isn't going to leap out from that beautifully-hinged hill and ambush you? The hinges work really well in this build; sometimes, like one place on your last build, I think they do more harm than good, but this barrow looks great.
Thanks Gilbert! Nope, that Crimson Knight will stay dead :P
